Religion concept

God of gods, the almighty

Creator of the world, ultimate judge and father. Intervenes on several occasions with lightning bolts on individuals, sinking whole continents or reshaping the face of the earth. His sons are the titans, who are between 4 and 12 in numbers(no one really knows), who wield almost the same powers as their father, thus they can also cast lightning on black mages(multi cheaters and other serious breaches of game rules) for example. The Almighty obviously resembles Tom and the titans.

Genesis

The world was made in 5 stages, first the earth and the elements, then the vegetation, then the animals, then the commoners and then the nobles. Every stage serves the next stage, where the final stage can only serve god directly. The final stage, the nobility serves their creator by offering wealth and blood on the field of battle. The world is created to breed the perfect race, the perfect realm, of the strongest warriors who excel in everything they do. Serve the god of gods by excelling and claiming immortality. The stages of creation are the most important moral foundations of the church, everything goes through those stages towards gods, meaning a commoner must serve the nobility in order to serve god and the nobles themselves can only directly serve and honor the gods.

Pantheon

The gods except obviously the almighty all had their place on earth among us during their lives. Their heroic lives on earth still inspire us today which has made them immortal. Giving ones life as a hero in battle is one way.

Right and wrong

Everything that basically goes against the rules of the game:

  • One account only - No Conjuration/Black Magic this extends to using any kind of magic
  • Always give newcomers the benefit of the doubt - helping a new noble serve the almighty
  • Playing at your own speed, timing and activity level, i.e. logging in as often or seldom as you like, at whatever times you like - every noble has the right to serve god at all times
  • Choosing which type of unit to command - nobles have some distinct rights as the final stage of creation
  • Going to tournaments - see above
  • Choosing your class - see above
  • Atheism/paganism is evil, so is every other religion that does not serve the almighty in anyway.
  • Out of class behaviour is also evil, everyone has its place in society.
  • In line of the 5 stage genesis, top down hierarchy is thus always important, only Monarchies tyrannies and theocracies are god worthy.
  • Marriage is good and required for every noble once in his life.
  • Excel in life by beating the enemy, no matter what the costs are.

Temple Wardens

Every Lord will hold the warden rank of his region making him responsible for that temples finance, safety and enlargement. They may also decide to which specific god their temple is dedicated. Rank title could for example be Warden of the Temple of Ardor in Leibo to indicate this. It allows input and sort of governorship for lower ranked members.

Elders and the Patriarch

Every priest becomes a spiritual elder, spreading the faith especially among nobles is the highest way to serve the almighty, as you spread its servants. The elders vote for a Patriarch, the leader of the church, whom gives direction mainly to the priests, organizes and plans the spread of faith and influence. The Patriarch also appoints one coffer master who is responsible for the overall financial situation of the church and leads/guides the wardens. The coffer master is the only elder that doesn't need to be a priest, the Patriarch can appoint anyone. The patriarch will align himself with one realm only as the divine Kingdom, other realms could one day also become one, its whomever the Patriarch declares so(obviously based on amount of followers/influence and military achievements, which ever realm in general serves the almighty best). The ruler of the realm the patriarch aligns himself to also automatically becomes an elder. The patriarch may only choose one realm during his entire rule. This realm will also be the protector of the church, its temples and holy sites. The patriarch is free to rule with the elders as he sees fit.

Offerings:

Offerings in the form of gold before or after battle is a common practice. It is said to help attract attention from the almighty of the achieved victory.

Celeberations:

anual Maddenval - once a year at the start of spring a temporary church leader is elected from the regular members (elders cant run) by all followers called Prince Maddenval who takes over the role of Patriarch for a period of one week during which the Patriarch serves the Prince. Its a celebration where everything in the normal daily life is put upside down. The nobles starts serving the commoners and the commoners the animals. The role of Prince Maddenval is first of all to lead the festivities and make sure everything is well turned on its head. the bigger and weirder the festivities the better his job. If Maddenval conides with a period of peace he should also stir up its followers to go to war during summer.

Harfest - During the last days of Autum, the coffer master will read out the members financial balances. The idea is that after the profit from Autum harvest is collected, your to donate to the church. You will get a special honorary rank with the highest positive balance for the entire year.
