Avamarian Army

The Avamarian Army has succesfully defended the realm against the aggression of Old Rancagua and the overwhelming odds. It is a rather small army, but due to the bravery, devotion and dedication of all Avamarian TLs has managed to proved itself as maybe the most combat-ready and skillfull combat structure in the continent.

The Avamarian Warriors, are sturdy fighters, ready to die to protect their realm, their homes and their families from foreign aggression. They constitute the basis of the army and they are generally considered fiercefull fighters. This fact is not due to a strange element in Avamarian blood or something, but purely due to necessity. The average Avamarian was born amidst the battlefield, with sword at hand and battlecries instead of lullabies. What an irony, as every single warrior longs for nothing more than PEACE! However is ready to die to protect what values most... FREEDOM!

Apart from the individual TL, the military machine of Avamar is based on extreme cohesion and detailed following of orders. Moreover each individual has assigned a series of combat tactics to maximise his efficiency in the battlefield. Apart from those reffered in the General's Bulletin of the realm there are more tips that each Avamarian is aware of, allowing him to surpress enemies with an army three times as large as the Avamarian.

More Tactical Tips

Ideally at the end of each turn you have to have no more than 4 hours. There is a number of ways to productively spent your hours instead of simply wasting them. Patrolling the streets or doing Police work is one way. Training your men is another!

  • Training

Training increases the training and cohesion values of your unit, thus the overall CS is increased. Keeping a small but highly trained unit is more cost efficient than having a large untrained unit and most importantly the Combat capability of the unit is more or less the same.

  • Tips on Training

The crucial number of men in which the cost of training (and the hours-cost of travelling and other activities) changes is 19 men, 29, 39 and so on. So instead of having a unit of 20 men, consider recruiting only 19 and then train them. It is better to select every time the hardest possible training method with the lower cost. For example if all training methods cost 1 gold, select the 8 hours Heavy Training. If the 4 and 6 hours training costs 1 gold and the Heavy 2 gold, then select the Medium train. The results will be more or less the same and you will spent half amount of gold.

  • Tips on Repairing Equipment

It is better to wait for the equipment damage to raise a bit and THEN repair it alltogether. This way you will save some gold and hours, as small diferences usually costs the same and needs the same hours (1% damage costs 1 gold and one hours, while 3% damage may cost the same)

  • Tips on Entertaining your men

If their morale is low or you have some golds to spare you can pay for their entertainment. Usually few hours are more than enough. Here the same rule with the 19, 29 and so on men applies. Most importantly, each unit has a preffered entertainment method. This offers high cohesion bonuses as well. Once you find it you can keep using it until your unit is utterly destroyed.)

  • Tips on Rest

Especially when on teh battlefield you may need to raise the morale of your men, having hours to spent and not wanting to increase equipment damage by training or decreasing combat efficiency by changing to Police. Then rest, is an option. Usually the bonus is low but it is free. Generally every 2 hours of rest the morale increase changes. Thus you can get 1% for 1 or 2 hours rest, 2% for 3 and 4 hours, 3% for 5 and 6 and so on. This is indicative though and not a general rule as you can very well get a greater bonus or nothing at all.)

  • After the battle

After a Battle is concluded and providing that you remain to the battlefield, you have to do the following in order of priority in order to maximise your unit's efficiency for teh following batttle. 1) Dig in if there are such orders 2) Forage the Battlefield 3) Rest or/and pay your men to increase morale. Never Hunt Enemies or Dig In, without orders)

  • Tips on Diggingn

The defensive skill of your unit is at least doubled if a combat finds it in a dug in state. HOWEVER it is crucial to know that Dug in units set in defensive mode, usually DO NOT MOVE! This means that if an army is divided in tehbattlefield with half units dug in and the rest idle, then in the combat round, half units will stay behind fortification and teh other half will move to meet the enemy! Thus it is CRUCIAL to follow relevant orders in this matter.
