Chaos in the North!

Written by Hireshmont With the unexpected abidication of the Highland Empire's former ruler, Zuni assumed control. Soon after this, Sartan's Abode on Earth, Sartania, began taking over Obtal. Lasanar launched an two attacks on Akanos. The first broke through and got into the street sof Akanos. But the second battle resulted in a Highland victory, expelling Lasanar forces from Akanos, for now. Arcachon recently experienced a change in government to a theocracy. Little detail is known, as of yet. Rumours say they are devoted to righteousness. The exact meaning of this is unclear. Some say the recent plethora of Theocracies in the north could signal the dawn of a new age. The political situation is, to say the least, chaotic, as with all of the [Far East]. In Sartania, rumours of rebels and strife have been heard. Orders were recieved to loot Obtal in a brutal takeover. Previously, Sartania did not enact acts of pillaging, or brutality to peasents. According to this paper's sources, there is a denomination rumoured to be called "True Sartanians" which has, according to ranking government sources, a desire for much more aggressive tactics and diplomacy on the part of Sartania. The situation in Arcaea is utterly unknown to this reporter, other than that Ethiala has sent a substantial force to Arcaea, possibly to aid the Arcaeans in defending the Highland Empire. Arcachon, as mentioned earlier, has experienced a change in government. Details will be given as soon as possible.

Ethiala in the North?

Written by Hireshmont In recent days sizeable Ethialan forces have been seen in and around Highland Empire territories. How large of forces, exactly? One hudnred and three archers, 522 infantrymen, and 50 cavalrymen. Army enough to greatly unbalance the situation in the north. This Ethialan force of roughly 5,000 CS has been acting in concert with Arcaean forces to defend the Highland Empire against forces from Arcachon. Recently, Arcachon forces where defeated by an Arcaea/Ethialan invasion force in the territory of Soniel. According to the Sartanian Strategical Council, Soniel is a valuable territory which some nobles on the council recomend as the next expansion of Sartania, and see as crucial to the expansion of Arcachon. It is one of two territories that Arcachon has on its borders, and the other is held by Lasanar. Soniel is a gateway to the mainland for Arcachon. Unfortunately for Arcachon, Arcaea and Ethiala are determined to keep them on their island. Most of the Far East is aware of the huge battle that just recently occured in Soniel. It occurred mere hours after a formal declaration of war by Arcachon on Arcaea and Ethiala. For reasons unknown to this reporter, only 6,000 CS of Arcaean and Ethialan forces fought. It is believed that, perhaps, many of them had withdrawn to Athios, on their way to reinforce the HE capitol at Akanos. But the facts remain unknown. The Arcacahonian forces won a great victory. they fielded 13,000 CS of troops, utterly smashing the Allied forces, capturing the Treasurer of Arcaea. But the question arises, why have Ethiala and Arcaea decided to take up the cause of the Highland Empire? For Arcaea, the reason is simple enough. The HE is a buffer between them and Lasanar, and also between them and Arcachon. Plus, Sartania is at war with the HE, and, even today, relations between Arcaea and Sartania are strained. Rumour says that many nobles in Sartania are very unhappy, to this day, with the agreement at the end of the Arcaean/Sartanian War. But why Ethiala? The reason is unknown. Perhaps they desired to keep Arcachon, one of the larger realms in the Far East, off of the mainland. The truth is mystifying to this northern man. But, with the recent conquest of Obtal by Sartanian forces, does Arcaea truly need HE as a buffer any more? The answer is unknown. Only time will tell the results of this developement. One wonders, though, what did cause the Ethialans to aid the Highland Empire?

Tournament in Ortedail.

Written by Pierre Erik II Leader of the Grand Lodge of Lunaria has Organised a Tournament in the magnificent City of Ortedail. The tournament will start within 2 days and we suspect a great show! Like every other tournament, things go wrong. Rumours are spreading that Sir Renquest and Sir Nobdy had a fight in one of Ortedail's Local inns. There are also reports of Vandalism on the town Square, Most people think they where just drunken nobles wandering around the town square having a a little bit of fun. But Some Lunarian nobles claim that Soliferum nobles where "Sabotaging" there Beloved Sqaure. The tension between The Lodge and Soliferum is even to be felt on the tournament ground. Lets all hope that things wont get out of hand, A tournament should be a place of fun and friendship after all.
