Supplemental Lesson: Archer Range

You can't always determine your archers' range from one battle, but you can at least start getting an idea of what it is.

When your archers are not in range, they will move closer until they are, then start shooting. Look at how many lines separate your unit from the enemy on the first round where they start shooting: that is within your archers' range, but it may not be its upper limit. If your unit and the enemy unit moved forward at the same time, that would reduce the distance between you by two lines.

Another, often quicker, way to determine the range of your archers is to ask the lord of the region they come from, as they can check the center itself if they are in the region. If you don't remember which recruitment center they came from, and you only recruited from one center, you can check the equipment values and compare it to those available in the capital.

If you recruited them from more than one center, it's much harder to tell what their range will be anyway, so asking the region lord probably won't help.

Thus endeth the lesson.

Note: this is now obsolete, due to the addition of archer range to the Status page, but is included for historical value.
