Family Crest

Motto "Robur a Damnum" meaning "Strength through Loss". The blazon of the family heraldry makes use of the chief ordinary, gradient field, corbie charge and raguly chief field.

The primary field is a party per bend sanguine to silver gradient, signifying patience in battle to achieve victory (sanguine), eventually leading to peace (silver).

The corbie charge is shown dominant center, turned regardant. The corbie in and of itself signifies harshness and unremitting cunning, while the posture regardant suggests looking to the past. The sable color once again signifies grief, though the regardant posture would suggest the grief is in the past.

The upper field of the shield contains a sable raguly line, indicating times of great difficulty and loss.

This current blazon of the family crest is not the original. The first crest was purposely destroyed by Rachel after the fall of Summerdale. She then reworked the current blazon herself.

Largely unwritten at the current time, the Verloren branch of the family has not entered the public eye until recently.

Family Tree with Known Relations

Currently a knight in Eichur, holding the estate of the Black Keep in the realm of Asylon.

Hazel Verloren was known as Hazel Kenadottir prior to her marriage with Augustus Verloren. The Verloren Family and the Kenadottir Family are therefore related, making Rachel Verloren the cousin on her maternal side to Helena Kenadottir and Hazel Kenadottir.
