One bright and sunny day, the little Judge from Melhed has just held court in Orde...

Tired from her long day in court, Fey wanders slowly along the unfamiliar streets of Orde, idly seeking a snack. A couple of stalls are shaded by long awnings, and she gladly takes refuge in their shade, her eyes aching in the bright glare of the sun.

She buys a turnover from the shopkeeper, recognizing his wife from a small dispute solved that morning in the court. The lady was satisfied with the result, and pulls a small curtsey to the judge, handing her the fanciest turnover, rather than the close one that her husband was going to give. "Thank you, Lady Fey. I am glad you've been re-elected."

Fey blushes, startled by the wife's kindness in her daze of headache and tiredness. "Anything for the people of Melhed," she says, and nods her thanks for the delicious-looking turnover, moving away to find a place to sit near the fountain int he town square.

"It's been an important day here today! First the banker, now the judge! You'd think we were in the capital, instead of just a border town!" Fey overhears the excited wife telling her husband.

So, Morgan's in town too eh? I wonder where he is, he can't be far, the town's not very large... She peers around, and surprisingly sees Morgan closer than she thought, sitting just past the other side of the fountain, taking a break. That was almost TOO easy...

"Morgan!" she calls. The gent looks up, startled from his thoughts.

"Fey! What a pleasant surprise! Do join me?" he motions to the smooth stone edge of the fountain where he's seated.

"Don't mind if I do. It's time for a break, domestic disputes court takes it out of you." She plunks herself down onto the smooth, cool stone and mimics some of the people from that morning. "He took my chicken! No I didn't! Yes you did! Give it back! I ate it! ...ughh. Nothing too difficult though, and everyone seemed fairly happy when they left. even the lady over there at the bakery, flour got moldy at the mill and she wanted the region to replace it, as it was somehow the region's fault that it spoiled... Got that all fixed up, turns out she also missed her day to pick it up, so they're all just going to forget about it."

"Huh. I do not know how you can put up with those sorts of disputes for long stretches. Money is much more relaxing to deal with, it's pretty and shiny and never talks back." Morgan winks, stretching lazily in the shade of the fountain.

Fey grins back, crumbs from the berry turnover falling to the cobbles below. "Aha, but do your coins and bonds give you the nicest pastry in the shop? Or get helpers to carry your gear for you?" she watches idly as one of her Duskwings appears and claims the pastry crumbs from the ground.

"Actually yes. Coins buy things, remember? I could buy that pretty pastry."

"But it wouldn't just give itself to you. I think my way's worth it." Finished eating, she dusts off her hands and leans back against the fountain's sculpture. Morgan copies her motion, looking up to the sky.

"So what're you out here for?" the little judge asks, closing her eyes to ease her head's ache. "Policing, tax troubles? ...vacation?"
