REGION LOST, REALM STANDS STRONG

We have received reports that the Meshians that entrenched themselves in our northern town, Naraka, have finally taken it over. Many probably speculate that Vlaanderen troops are worried and scared of such actions, but that is not the case.

The men are enjoying themselves by drinking and training for a possible counter-offensive to this...at least that is what I have heard. Can't really tell when I'm buried up to my neck in paperwork. But besides that, I'm proud to say that Vlaanderen regions are now up to tip-top shape. So in celebration, this reporter is throwing a celebration party in Yokk!

THE PEOPLE SPEAK

Not entirely sure of whats going on with the people, due to weeks worth of paperwork, I decided to see the responses of the people to the following questions:

1. What is happening within the minds of the Vlaanderen people? Do they find that the loss of Naraka to be devastating, or something that we can gain back?

2. With the Meshians showing no sign of moving out, are there plans to regain what has been lost?

In response, many nobles show no signs of this as a major problem. Some are more or less complaining about the lack of waffles or bloodlust they have been seeking for some time.

One of our high officials answered with some interesting answers to the questions above:

1.That is not a question I can answer, but we will take Naraka back, fear not, that is not a major concern right now, Mesh are not as powerful as they think.

2.Hope is never lost, right now we are preparing to mobilize soon, I have a little surprise waiting for them, I do think you will all like it.

Let's hope such words will be proven true when the time presents itself. And besides that whole thing.... an investigation is underway about the significance to Sir Valhalla's "Grape-Eating" Diet.

FOOLS GOLD

Today a battle occured in Weghie between the forces of Vlaanderen, Khthon and Plergoth. Victory was attained with little to no effort but none the less it came at a small price. Moments before the battle, High Marshal Valhalla ordered his army to stand down, he and his 100 man unit would charge ahead, alone, Valhalla wanted a one on one fight with Daviald, though Valhalla's hope of this did not come into reality.

Upon Valhalla's unit charging forward, Daviald cowardly ordered archer fire instead of meeting him man to man on the battlefield in a duel of strength and honour. Valhalla was hit in the army by an arrow, a light wound which will heal within a day the healers tell us.

Once again, Daviald shows his cowardice in the face of Valhalla's might, it is a wonder how such an inhumane coward still lives.

PRISONERS OF WAR

Reports of a battle this morning from within Xinjin. It appears the Vlaanderen forces were waiting in ambush for the returning Plergoth army, of whom were being persued by Khthon forces.

Upon Plergoths arrival in Xinjin the Vlaanderen army laid waste to their retreating forces and desimated what was left of their army in the aftermath, upon which it seemed, High Marshal Daviald was captured by Vlaanderen guards.

High Marshal Valhalla ordered him to be returned to Reeds, unharmed. After a short interview with Valhalla it was made clear that his intentions were not for Daviald to die in a dungeon. Valhalla was later heard speaking of Daviald.

Captain Baldred: My lord, what are you to do with the High Marshal?

Valhalla: Our policy on prisoners of war will remain the same, regardless of his rank.

Captain Baldred: Do you think that wise my lord?

Valhalla: Yes, in fact I do. Daviald is the only one of these worthless snakes who will stand against me on the battlefield.... a man worth killing is a man worth keeping alive, until you have the opportunity to end his life yourself.

Captain Baldred: My lord?

Valhalla: Take a look at Plergoths army, they are led by cowards. Their council is weak and their strength is fading into the greed that corrupts them.... Daviald is the only one of whom has shown even a shred of honour, he may be one of them but he is a warrior.... a man like that should not die in a prison cell. He will meet his end at my hand, I will promise you that much, but when he does, it will be in a duel of honour. A warrior is born into the battlefield and as such, he should die upon it.
