Greetings to you nobles of foreign lands, I thank you for your patronage and time as we are due to compete in the tourney in 4 short days. As it stands, we have 24 nobles in total committed to participate which I expect to swell as nobles from the local realms of Westgard, D'Hara and Tol Goldora join. If you have any questions or would like to meet, send me a letter and I shall hope to attend. There shall also be two weddings in the coming days as well, I hope that you all wish the couples well. Navarch Solomon Greybrook the Wise I humbly thank you for your hospitality and welcome to the tournament you have so graciously hosted. I am Brigitte Tempest, I hail from the realm of Sol, but was born on the faraway continent of Beluaterra. Despite my lack of combat experience I simply could not pass up this opportunity to train, learn and with a little luck knock some poor fool off their horse. I shall not let my lack of experience hold me back, and I will gladly face any opponent, meeting them bravely and honourably. I hope you will find my matches at least entertaining if not exhilarating as I charge any man or women regardless of how intimidating they appear. As for the weddings I am not overly fond, having been forcibly married off myself I find them superficial, however if their are free drinks you might find me attending. Dame Brigitte, Thank you for your kind words, they are well recieved. You have arrived at a opportune moment in our history as you may know, Tol Goldora is celebrating a time of peace where we have returned to our rightful home in Golden Farrow. I shall be watching both tourneys, looking for nobles young and skilled to perhaps ask to join my realm - it is the heart that counts they say. Hence, I shall keep a good eye on you. There shall be two weddings, one of the Ambassador to marry my cousin and the other for the Margravine of Golden Farrow to marry myself. The practice for marrying off women is simply draconian and uncouth. Men and women have equal inheritance rights so such matches make no sense, I am sorry you have had to experience such a thing. My question to you perhaps is whether you think you can fulfill your potential in Sol and if so how? I have fond memories of the Lurian Empire but I do not see the realms as places to realise potential. Regards | |

A black pennant with a white crescent flew under a banner with the golden sun of Sol, announcing to those who knew the heraldry of the East that the heavily robed and hooded noble with the bear pelt cloak cantering onto the Field of Honor must be the newly minted Duke, Mastraacht Abjur of the Vorstadt. He rode his roan horse loosely, his black shield hanging from his saddle bow with the falx he favored instead of a sword. Abjur's esquire placed his banner among those at the proving ground, then brought his lord a practice lance. Taking the lance in a stiff, gloved hand, he waited for his esquire to prepare the targets, then lifted his shield and couched his lance. Kicking his horse into a gallop down the list, he stood in his stirrups and slipped the point of the practice lance through the hanging rings, one by one, smaller and smaller, until he finally missed. Pulling the big roan to a halt, he counted the rings, then passed the lance to his esquire. Climbing from the saddle, he unsheathed his falx and switched his shield from his left to right arm, then spent some time going over slashes and strikes with his esquire. Apparently satisfied (without seeing his face, masked as it was by the cloth hood, who could be sure?), he replaced his falx and shield on his saddle and cast his sight over the field. His pale blue eyes falling on the nearby tavern, he fished a pouch from within his cloak and passed it to his esquire, pointing toward the building and leaning near his man, who seemed to listen for a moment before he nodded and rushed away to do his master's bidding. A cheer rose up from the tavern while the robed Duke returned to his horses back and left the field for his accommodations. | |

A sparring partner presents himself A rather humble and frankly, old man bearing the emblem of the Royal Rangers is making the rounds at the tournament field. Looking in on training matches and where appropriate offers a kind word of advice. The time worn lines on his face speak of a hard life filled with danger but remarkably his smile is exceptionally genuine and warm. When prompted the aged Ranger speaks with a gentle voice. Offering some practice in the form of a training match. Stating that he might yet surprise some of these whippersnappers.
