::Well I'm speaking about an FTO, so with sympathy over 50%. It would be stupid to loot a region with such a high sympathy, don't you think? [[User:Van Peteghem|Van Peteghem]] 20:27, 13 February 2007 (CET)

You forgot colony takeover too. Dan raymond January 1, 2006 07:42 (CET)

Eh? I've never seen one of those... how do they work? Vellos 1 January 2006 07:54 (CET)

It's when you takeover a region which is not at the border of any region of your realm... Then this region becomes a Colony instead of being part of the realm. That's how new realms are created usually. They make a TO away from their realm and then claim on independence. Shoenaemaeh 1 January 2006 10:16 (CET)

I know that part, but are they run differently? Do they use different tactics than a normal TO? Can you run them as brutal, friendly, and hostile? Vellos 1 January 2006 16:39 (CET)

A colony takeover is a Friendly takeover, and can only be done as such. You very well wouldn't want the capital of your new realm to start off hating your brutality, would you? Also, colonies can only be done in cities, strongholds, or townslands that are nonadjacent to the realm that is forming the colony. Colonies start with the same government that the mother realm has, though this can be avoided. Ways to avoid this are by either avoid voting for the first ruler, spiral down into anarchy, and then when you finally do elect a ruler they can re-establish any form of government. An alternative would be to change the government in a "friendly" revolution. Anomalous 6 May 2006 14:29 (EST)

Civil/Police Work???

Isn't it true that units cannot do civil or police work outside their own realm? If so, then it's impossible to do it in a region where your realm is doing a TO, right? --Drake 19 April 2006 18:15 (CEST)

I know you can't do police work outside your own realm. I just tried that not very long ago (a week or two) in a neutral realm. It wasn't during a TO, though. I didn't check civil work. Perhaps things work different during a TO? --Indirik 19 April 2006 19:39 (CEST)
I have tried to do police work during a HTO and it was not possible... --Blackknight 19 April 2006 19:50 (CEST)

You can only Do Civil work In a FTO. ScottSabin 19:39, 6 May 2006 (CEST)

Diplomacy

Can you perform an FTO in a region of a realm your realm is neutral to, diplomatically spoken? Van Peteghem 20:18, 13 February 2007 (CET)

Nope. You have to declare war to take over a region from another realm in any way. If the region is in poor shape, you might be able to loot it to the ground and then take it, but that's your only other option.
