Octavius Family
House Octavius
Originally established on Atamara, the Octavius family moved to the Colonies after a series of bad luck in Atamara. Lately members of the family have set out for the new lands of Dwilight in hope of a brighter future. The family members are spread out over the continents of Atamara, the Colonies and Dwilight. Often the only thing members of the family have in common is their surname.
The Church of the Allfather
Since time immemorial members of House Octavius have been followers of the Church of the Allfather. A minor religion too small to be noticed by those in power, it has had followers in the remoter regions of the ASI for centuries. Though foreign religions come and go its followers blend in with the background and outwardly display deveotion to the official religion of the day whilst keeping the true faith on the inside. All the Octavians beleive in the Allfather and the family chapel provides a place for local villagers to worship as well as providing a place for the occasional wandering priest to lay his or her head. Whilst the Octavians are aware of the other faiths sweeping the lands they remain aloof from it and hope thereby to survive the storm when those faiths are inevitably replaced other faiths.
Family Members
The current generation of Octavians and the family's hope for the future:
Antonine Willhelm Ocatvius - A knight of Sovonoval in the realm of Oritolon in the colonies. He is young but already has a reasonable claim to the Countship of Sovonoval in the event the present incumbent should vacate the position. Aspires to making his fortune and being a Marshal.
Asriel Constantine Octavius - Recently started his career in D'Hara in the new lands of Dwilight. He is a knight of Paisly. He is a devout member of the Church of the Allfather and has aspirations to spreading the faith in Dwilight when he has the power to do so. Indeed the Duke of Paisly has pledged to help him spread the faith in the duchy of Paisly. He is also a sworn enemy of Terran due to their repeated insults towards his queen and his realm. His faith is constantly growing but he does not yet knw which path the Allfather wishes him to tread.
His strong belief in knightly conduct and behaviour worthy of nobles sometimes brings him into conflict with his contempories. One of these is 'Black' Bowie Ironsides whom Asriel duelled to the surrender in Port Raviel. After a series of blows righteousness prevailed and Asriel triumped over his foe.

After the duel Black Bowie and Sir Asriel have reached a mutual tolerance if not respect, even though they try to avoid being in the same place at the same time as much as possible.
Emma Octavius - Emma is from the Atamaran branch of the family. Having seen the disaster that the Ash Sea Islands has suffered she gathered a band of soldiers and became a troop leader in the ASI. She rejects Magna Serpaenism and believes that it was this faith that led the ASI into disaster in the first place. This puts her at odds with many of her realm mates. She has sworn an oath not to rest until all Ashlanteans may once again travel freely through the islands and call them home.
Amelia Octavius (bastard, retired) - Amelia was a professional adventurer before she retired after a few days to become a maid in one of the family households. She did this when she realised that she was hopeless at adventuing.
