Octavius Family

House Octavius

Despite dating back centuries the House of Octavius has only just become large enough to be noticed. The ancestral home is located in the Ash Sea Islands where they have been minor country gentry for centuries. For time immemorial the Octavian family has been defended by the Green Guard regiments, recruited from the local villagers who have lived under the local rule of the Octavians for centuries. The family motto means: Nothing to despair about.

That era is over we are the last surviving members, a cataclysm of which we shall not speak scattered us to the four winds, we the strongest of the remnants changed our name to that of Valdemar to escape the doom that follows us. But now we have returned to the old name and the new generation will stand against the ancient doom that follows us and win! Then the House of octavius will be born again greater than before!

For those who seek us still the family home is now in the region of Glassin in the realm of Suville. Those who were once our enemies are now our friends and we fight for the land that sheltered us in our hour of need.

The Church of the Allfather

Since time immemorial members of House Octavius have been followers of the Church of the Allfather. A minor religion too small to be noticed by those in power, it has had followers in the remoter regions of the ASI for centuries. Though foreign religions come and go its followers blend in with the background and outwardly display deveotion to the official religion of the day whilst keeping the true faith on the inside. All the Octavians beleive in the Allfather and the family chapel provides a place for local villagers to worship as well as providing a place for the occasional wandering priest to lay his or her head. Whilst the Octavians are aware of the new faith sweeping the land they remain aloof from it and hope thereby to survive the storm when Magna Serpaensism is inevitably replaced by another faith.

Family Members

The new generation of Octavians and the family's last hope:

Selenay Octavius - A knight and troop leader of Greater Aenilia, formerly of Suville, she is devoted fiercly to the protection of the realm from all threats. She has deterimined that her men, the Green Guard, will become a unit of such skill that none can best them.

Meridian Octavius - A troop leader, knight and sometimes drunkard of Suville, he spends most of his time in training for the tournament circuit where he hopes to make a fortune later in life. He is Selenay's cousin. After being imprisoned by Protectorate of Magnus forces during the Great War he vowed revenge and formed a unit named Meridian's Avengers with which he intends to cut a bloody trail across the lands of the serpent. He also challenged a so-called Dame Norah of the Protectorate of Magnus to a duel and when she failed to show publicly denounced her as a peasant posing as nobility. He later swore an (as yet) unfullfilled oath to track her down and kill her.

Willhelm Octavius - He is a hero of the realm of Oritolon in the colonies and spends his time smiting the foes of his Prime Minister with righteous fury. He once owned the Legendary Cloak but it wore out and disintegrated before he could have it repaired.

In memorandum:

At some point in the past an mysterious cataclsym wiped out the shining stars of the latest generation of Octavians and the remnants of the family were scattered to the four winds. All that is known of those who died are their names and that they fought for the Ash Sea Islands.

They were all members of the family tree shown below but all the current troop leaders of the family are from a distant branch which is not shown on the family tree:
