12 June 1011 A new knight has emerged from the ranks of the Westmoor nobles. Cassandra Foxglove is starting her career today. 11 June 1011 New local lord appointed Corwin D'Saferate, Duke of Oligarch has appointed Maliki as the new Count of Dulbin. Sabotage! The militia in Oligarch has been attacked by an infiltrator, and 9 guards were killed. Fortunately, some of those who could escape were able to identify the attacker as Zartos ut Daris, an infiltrator from Fontan. 10 June 1011 Region Takeover Ibladesh has taken control of Woolton (formerly part of Perdan). Ibladesh now controls 26 regions. Skirmish in Greatbridge Small forces from Westmoor attacked Greatbridge, but were quickly surrounded by overwhelming defending units. Vastly outnumbered, the attackers surrendered and were all captured. Battle in Poitiers (rogue) vs. Westmoor Estimated strengths: 30 men vs. 20 men Defender Victory! New Westmoor paper would like to apologize for the mistake in the previous article where only the first potential ruler’s name was displayed in bold. This was due to one of the type setters trying to get one of the kitchen staff to do his job for him. Both members are now working back where they belong in the kitchens.

09 June 1011 Panic is spreading in Poitiers after peasants spread rumours of an undead horde. The peasants are living in fear and barely dare to leave their homes. People fleeing from Greatbridge are spreading horror tales of the terror and brutality with which an enemy army (Fontan) is taking control of their homeland.

The Battle of Greatbridge! 11 June 1011 The Westmoorian Column which had no wish to engage its former ally Fontan was forced by the treacherous nation to decisive military action today at the battle of Greatbridge. Marshal Thomas Foxglove deployed the army in an infantry charge formation while lady Rhidhana Dubhaine minster of defence for Fontan, and Marshal of the Democratic Guard appeared only to be trying to wound our army as much as possible while retreating a suggestion that Fontan had no intention or desire to win this battle. Ultimately their archer heavy army backfired as huge winds and gusts blew the arrows of Fontan all over the place with one report suggesting that an arrow was blown all the way into Dulbin. Once our infantry broke through the lines and into Basilius’ unit of some 200 archers the battle was as good as over. Being there myself I was surprised at the intensity and ferocity that Westmoor showed in defending a region that rightfully belongs to Westmoor from our former friends. We hope that Fontan will now do the right thing and end this dreadful deceit which has no place on either side of our borders. A good day for Westmoor on the battlefield. - quotation of Thomas Foxglove when victory was proclaimed.  Arica becomes General once more Lady Arica Maldives has once again taken up the responsibilities of Lady General over Westmoor after she was reappointed today by our Liege. Arica’s tale is an amusing one as she managed to bluff her way out of Caligus’ cells claiming she was a Sirion noble a feat she managed to get away with after Sirion nobles bribed the Krimml government resulting in the various forms of confusion that followed only a few days ago. Infiltrators may learn from this but are advised not to rely on such a ploy and stick to the ancient sabotage rule of better to have fought than to have been caught.

Coronation of a new king! 10 June 1011 All hail our new king Maedros Itaran king of all Westmoor! Our new king Maedros received a good majority of the votes and will soon be giving new decrees to the realm as a whole. Those nobles who feel capable of filling the office should write to me, explaining their credentials. The office of Lord General should be filled before the end of sunset today. Should any of you wish to ask something of me, do not hesitate to write.   So there you have it if you’re interested in either the job of Lord Treasurer or Lord General then get cracking on it although Thomas Foxglove seems tipped for the job of Lord General with several highbrow figures declaring their support, bookies odds 1 to 2. New Westmoor paper founded! 09 June 1011 It is with great pleasure that we can announce the foundation of a new paper for Westmoor. Recent events have seen the removal of Flaylen our former king from power after a long silence, and the breaking of our federation by Fontan over the right of ownership to Krimml. There are multiple enemies for us in the north and south and there has perhaps never been a better time for news what with the recent loss of Evora. Within the next few days (providing all goes well) a new king will be elected to rule over our realm. The candidates thus far are: Gabrael Gregor Gustor Jor Maedros All nobles are greatly encouraged to vote in this referendum and read the manifestos of the potential rulers. As for the paper it is based loosely on the Obsidian News with stylistic influence from the old Westmoor Times. Hopefully both the paper and Westmoor will flourish in the years to come!
