History

In ancient times, the County of Mekoter is known to have served as little more than a royal hunting ground for the old Kings of Ossmat. It is only in more recent times, during the ascendancy of Old Grehk, that Mekoter has seen her true value and place in the world recognised. Nowadays Mekoter is a thriving and integral part of the Duchy of Ossmat, which in itself is an integral part of Old Grehk.

Economy

Although somewhat hampered by the small number of people at it's disposal, Mekoter is one of the chief providers of food to Ossmat, mainly as a result of the excellent hunting throughout the region. The heavy woodland in Mekoter has also led to Mekoter becoming one of the leading providers of raw building materials in all Old Grehk. Bandit attacks rarely ever get the chance to interrupt trade due to the diligent protection of the locally trained Mekotan Legionnaires.

Politics

Local politics in Mekoter can sometimes be brutal, with Count Revan only recently stripping one Knight of all their estates & possessons and expelling then from the region. Now Mekoter is entirely dominated by just two nobles, the Count of Mekoter himself and Lord Gummie, former Royal Treasurer of Old Grehk.

At the Duchal and realm levels, Mekoter is more stable and is widely known to have unshakable loyalty to both Ossmat and Old Grehk.
