'''Roleplay from Deianarah McDowell'''

Deianarah looked down at her food but she had difficulty swallowing her mouthful. She kept thinking of the past few days and her stomach kept turning. Never in her life had she been in a battle of this magnitude, not only that but there seemed to be no end to it. Well at least she was no longer battle shy.

Her brother had told her of some of the battles he had been in. She had listened to each story with keen interest but hearing of it and becoming a part of it were two different things. Thankfully she had not lost any of her men yet, he had warned her of that too.

She missed Alec so much. Of all her siblings, he was the one she resembled the most. They both shared the dark blonde hair, so dark it bordered on brown, but where his eyes were hazel hers were brown. They also shared the dark creamy complexion of their skin. Where his face was masculine, squared, hers was heart shaped. They each had a light dapple of freckles on the bridge of their nose, but then the difference was obvious, she had soft plump lips, and a doe-eyed gaze unlike his.

As the years went by, she had followed in her older sister’s footsteps, shadowing her any way she could, she has simply wanted to be her but where Sorsha was all softness, Alec was energy and joy. He has such a zeal for life anyone who knew him would get caught up in it. It was only with him she was able to forget who she really was, he had showed her how to enjoy each day as if it was her last.

Now after what she had seen these last few days, she had been given a taste of what to expect from now on. She looked to her food, but she couldn’t take another bite.  She needed to make the best of what she had. Then she thought of Thain and the oath she had given. She had done so blindly, without really knowing anything about him and the depth of his cause apart from what he had told her. She knew of his goal, but to make his cause her own without second thought?

She had not seen him since they last talked. Their discussion had ended after a short walk and then they had both gone off to battle. For a long time she thought of him. She thought of what life had in store for him, a future king in exile? Nighthelm, a place she had only heard of but had yet to see but for what her imagination created, mostly she wondered where it would all take her. She would never break an oath, she would die first, but she hoped Thain would never make her regret it.

What was it about him that had made her act so? And why couldn’t she stop thinking of it with a mixture of anxiousness and impending doom. She finally set her food down, deciding to stop trying to eat altogether and sighed. Leaving it there, she rose and walked away deciding to walk her queasiness off.
