Roleplay from Thain Himoura

Thain returned to palace, and quickly retired to the bedchamber, and tried to pour himself a drink, but he shook with such great rage that all he managed to do was spill it. He set the decanter down with a loud thud, and let the glass clatter to the ground before sitting on the bed, his face in his hands.

Deianarah was informed by a servant that the King had returned and she made her way to find him. News of what had occurred bothered her terribly, because she knew how Thain was, and she hoped she would get there in time to soothe him. He may be quick to react, to anger, but she knew deep down, beneath the anger, was hurt.

She walked into the room to see him sitting on the bed, face in hands and her heart sunk. Approaching him slowly, she sat beside him and put a hand on his arm. “Thain… I’m sorry…”

Thain took her hand in his and smiled slightly.

"Could you be so kind as to pull the dagger from my back?" he joked halfheartedly.

"What got into them? I give them a home, a purpose, a cause. And at the drop of a hat the turn their backs. I ought to have them hung for treason. I guarantee you a stunt like this anywhere else would have them swinging from the gallows. Rotten bastards, in bed with Soliferum. That would explain the spy reportedly within our ranks. I guarantee it. Am I the only who sees Conan's words for the poison they are?"

Deianarah sighed sadly and leaned her head on his shoulder and rubbed his back lovingly. “This is what happens when you’re ruler my love, you can’t please everyone. Greed, envy, jealousy can set in, and for others it is simply the cowards way out because they are unable to stand for what they believe in for fear and facing difficulty. I hate to say it, but what goes around comes around, they will get their due judgment. I know it’s painful but remember it is also a learning experience, even though not one we go through willingly. This is when you lean to the ones who remain true to you, it takes patience and time but eventually you will learn to tell the loyal and steadfast true kin spirits who are meant to walk the same path as you. Betrayal is not easy to accept but sadly it is a necessity to allow us to grow.” During the time she told him how she viewed the situation, she couldn’t help the unshed tears in her eyes. To see him in pain, only gave her pain in turn. “Remember I’m here for you…”
