Stabbed

Xarnelf awoke, his head pounding away in dull annoyance. Blearily, he reached a hand out to the side and waved to whoever was around. A water cup was quickly placed in his grasp, and the Duke gulped noisily. After it was drained, he simply asked, "Did he get away?"

"Yes, m'lord, unfortun--"

"Damn it! Get me my captain! We need to rejoin the others."

Xarnelf sighed as the servant left the tent. Maybe running down those weak archers wasn't such a good idea after all. But it was sure as hell fun while it lasted, before the assassin was sent! He grinned at the thought of possibly cutting off some retreating stragglers before meeting up with the rest of the army....
