Second Awakening (Part 1: Alive)

AWAKE!

His eyes snapped open while his heart raced and his entire body felt suddenly alive, tingling with inexplicable energies. The knight rose, bending forwards at the waist to find himself upon a bed in a dark room. He glanced around with an expressionless countenance; his mind was utterly blank and devoid of thoughts.

Acting unconsciously, the young noble swung his legs out to the left from under the white sheets, moving into a sitting position on the edge of his place of rest. Looking down to the side, he observed a pitcher of water and two empty glasses standing on a small bedside table.

Slowly, the knight reached towards the container of liquid. Just as his hand made contact with the glass surface, the room exploded in a flash of light.
