Freedom, and the Marching Red Banders

They dropped her off at the border between Edairn and Leod, neither roughly nor nicely, which was fine by Adaria. Though exhausted, the girl was still glad that her second ordeal in prison was finally finished. Luckily, she did not fall ill this time around as had occurred during her last visit, when she had contracted some food poisoning. It was merely boring and uneventful after Namenir was released, for she knew no one else in prison to whom she could yell out bits and pieces of idle conversation to pass the time.

Knowing neither where she was exactly, nor where her retreated unit had now gathered, Adaria simply prayed to the Aenil for guidance and started off in the direction directly opposite of the returning transport caravan. She figured they must be heading south, and north was the direction of friends and allies, so north she went.

Several hours after the sun had crossed its zenith, and a score or so miles of walking later, Adaria finally found some tracks that appeared somewhat recent crossing her current trail. Hoping for the best, she altered her course accordingly and now headed more or less northeast, towards the direction from which the tracks originated; she figured they probably came from Taop, which was as good a place as any to reach. Soon enough, she heard the sounds of marching boots headed her way and quickly stumbled upon an advancing Cathayan unit.

With plenty of smiles and offers of escort, the soldiers gave the girl instructions that would lead her to her men, who had remained anxiously in the area closer to Taop than Azros. Thanking them for their assistance, Adaria politely declined the protection and moved off once more, now bolstered with increased determination and assurance regarding her current position.

(Roleplay from TNaismith Willarc)

TNaismith muttered something quietly as he hunched over several parchments clutched in both hands. He was walking and trying to anaylze the data at the same time, and as such didn't notice some members of the Red Banders company stopping to converse with a traveler up ahead of the column.

As the traveler moved off, the Red Bander soldiers whom had been speaking looked up as TNaismith almost collided with them, still deep into his investigation of the parchments.

"Mmmumblesgrumble...eh? Were you chatting with someone mates?" The noble asked in a momentary glance upwards from his pursuit. He turned to see the cloak of the traveler disappearing behind them as the road dipped away.

"A lady traveler TN. Asked for directions to a group of soldiers we passed by earlier today. We offered escort as you would have us ask any friendly traveler, but she declined, and with quite the polite smile if I do say so myself." One of the Red Banders answered.

TNai nodded absent-mindedly and waved a hand off to indicate all was well.

"Good good. As long as they weren't fresh out from the dungeons or something, then we have nothing to worry about. Now I believe the coordinates for the rendezvous was at this point...but according to this letter orders are to meet here....but then this map has this location listed down to the right side here...and..."

The Red Banders marched.
