Simmering Fury

The girl read over the Lord High Chancellor's message again with mixed feelings of confusion, satisfaction, and anger. Apparently, for some undisclosed reason, Viracocha was no longer in power as Soliferum's Minister of Law. Suddenly, Adaria snorted loudly in disgust at the memories conjured up in her mind by Rekhyt's note to all active nobles of Aenilia.

Once again, she recalled the day when the dreadful news about her cousin Yleina's unjust and horrific execution reached her ears, turning her world upside down. Once again, she saw the flames begin to burn upon the funeral pyre, consuming the still body of her beloved idol. Once again, she heard Tharion's grim words to Xarnelf that day, promising unwithheld vengeance and the destruction of Soliferum for the crimes of their Minister of Law that they continued to support.

Minister of Law? Nay, Minister of Death was closer to the truth. Adaria thought then of her other cousin, that fearless hero who rushed fervently into all battles against the enemy regardless of the odds stacked against him. He would find no comfort in Rekhyt's news, she knew; indeed, she did not even need to ask him to know that he would not rest until Viracocha no longer lived.

She knew this because she harbored similar simmering feelings.
