12.03.11 - Battle with Undead - What's that coming over the hill ?
The citizens of Alebad awoke to the quiet sound of distant bells ringing in through their windows and brooding black smoke on the horizon, steadily but quickly shutting out the sky and drifting towards the city. The gleaming white stone of the city turned dull as the hordes of panicked peasants started rushing into the city. They quickly shouted of monsters and evil attacking the outlying villages, burning their houses and killing all who tried stop the onslaught. The distant bells now fell silent as more peasants rushed in through the city gate with terrified looks on their faces, as if dogs were at their heels.
Boen and his archers mounted the walls with the rest of the defenders of the city of Alebad, waiting for this evil to come. The gate was shut and someone cried Whats that coming over the hill ! is it a monster ?
A band of undead pelted with impossible speed towards the city, they rushed across the plains screaming without fear or pain, straight into the range of the archers. Arrows were let loose and the undead were stopped in their tracks, nailed to the ground in a forest of newly planted trees.
Well, that was an interesting morning exclaimed Boen. Head back to the estate men, your dismissed.
Later during the afternoon Boen's archers were christened the Screaming crows and new shields were created to reflect this.

09.03.11 - The New Estate - Dusty Lookin, Better Start Cooking
Walking down the narrowest allies in the southern district of Alebad, with marching troops in tow and a brand new title deed held in fist. written by the clerks of the city offices, signed and sealed by Senator Mero Chesvo.
The outside walls were bleached and discoloured, the door was only just holding in its place and the first room was dusty lookin. Saying there was a little furnishings was an overstatement, the room could not have looked barer. Venturing further in and through an archway revealed much improvement, there was a small cobbled courtyard bordered by the rest of the single story and double story buildings of the estate. A small empty fountain and basin were in the centre of the courtyard and a young ivy plant had sprung up against one of the buildings. A stair led up to the terrace which overlooked the courtyard on three sides. The terrace was currently occupied by a colony of birds that had taken up residence since the previous owner had left.
The men spread out and looked around, exclaiming what a great wee place this must have been. It was probably the largest place most of the men had ever stayed in. For the moment they forgot the pains and emotions of leaving home and joining the army. Boen called them all together in the courtyard, men, we better start cooking, collect together all the supplies we have and prepare the evening meal.
Joyful faces were all around, as there time together had only just begun and there was peace in the realm.
