Sir Francis Kinsey, Lord and Duke of Port Raviel,General and Hero of D'Hara, was slain in combat by a band of rogues in Paisiland. Nobles from all over Dwilight sent their condolences. Rynn had never truly known the man, though Duke Francis had been kind enough to offer him an estate in the capital, he had declined, preferring instead to serve the Desert. But by now, the Desert had been running at peak efficiency for some time now, its population regrown from dismal nothing into the maximum the region could support. Feeling his work there was done, Rynn decided that he could better contribute to the realm by moving on and seizing upon the opportunity left in Duke Francis's wake. And, with the help of the relationships he had built, Duke Machiavel Chernier, Prime Minister of D'Hara, decided to invest Rynn as the new Duke of Port Raviel and therefore, by tradition, Margrave of Port Raviel as well. His investiture was confirmed by popular vote on 2012-06-04. Barely a year had past since he had become a peer of the realm.

Rynn (now 19) had never dreamed of such wealth as the captial offered, being used to the 9 or 10 gold per week that the Desert offered. He immediately held a festival to commemorate the Late Duke Francis, and then set about his work learning his new duties. He renamed one of the archery recruitment centers after his own Wind Daggers, constructed the Dragonstrike Cavaliers to offer the realm some cavalry support, and even built an Academy. It was then that he met his new vassal, Ghaundan D'Espana, the portly Lord of Raviel and Ambassador of D'Hara. Ghaundan would grow to become Rynn's very best friend in the world, and later, his best man.

Though she never revealed to others why she left the Desert sands of Dwilight, it was no secret that Kalixta hated her family. Her journey to escape them, she traveled first to Atamarra and then to Belutarra before finally settling in the northern republic of Melhed. It seemed a quiet place. A place for her to escape her past. She found solace in learning the sword, mastering and swiftly becoming Melhed's finest swordsman.

When Kalixta had first arrived and joined the army, the 5th Invasion was only just ending. She herself participated in its final battles, slaying daemon, monster, and undead horrors alike in the defence of Man. Only when the last Daemon was cast back into the Abyss did the blights at last begin to lift from the land. The army was dispatched south to aid their neighbors in countering the rouges that where running rampant through the countryside.

During this time, Kalixta had secured herself as Countess of Seven Rivers and was earning a comfortable income when she received an unanticipated visitor. Maya Tandaros, a new knight and aspiring warrior, presented Kalixta with her Sword and service. By this time, Kalixta had been appraised of the Tandaros's relationship with her family and, despite her misgivings, welcomed Maya as her first knight. Day and knight, the two women trained. As time progressed, their relationship changed from that of mentor/student one more akin to sisterhood. Life was quiet, and for that, Kalixta was happy. But, as is its nature, the world continued to spin regardless of whether it had her attention.

Melhed underwent a period of dynamic political change. A whirlwind rebellion led by Bloodspeaker priest and Founder Duke Yeux Serpantis of Agyr, drew Kalixta from the comfortable riverfront home she had made for herself and cast her into politics. When Yeux as for her support in his bid to claim the new Crown of Melhed, Kalixta ascented. Her unmatched skill with a blade naturally facilitating her rise to become the Crown's own Royal guard. She fought against the loyalist in Agyr, what little there were, earning the title of Margravine of Agyr from the newly minted King Yeux. The offer was made to secure her Loyalty, and she was given to choose between ruling the Capital or being made Duchess of Fronepu. She chose the former, preferring instead to convey the opportunity upon Pavel Jeffrey, then-Imperator of Melhed who would later become a dear friend. In her stead, she called for Maya's elevation to Countess of Seven Rivers. When things settled down at last, she returned to her quiet life of training, ignoring whispers of a new war that was coming...

Unlike her mentor, Maya was not for the quiet life. Kalixta failed to anticipate what a political animal she would become. within months of her arrival in Melhed, Maya had sworn herself to the bloodspeaker faith (a move Kalixta always questioned)and secured a wedding proposal from King Yeux. It was not long before the two were wed with a child on the way and Kalixta found that her duties as Royal Guardian were swiftly expanding.

Then came the war with Thalmarkin.

Kalixta never really understood why the Thals, or"feathers" as Maya disaffectionately referred to them, called for war, but she greeted it with grim determination. She used her great income from Agyr to fund most of the knights. In the beginning, things did not look so bad. But when it became apparent that Melhed would eventually be ground down by sheer numbers, Kalixta championed the idea of a plan code named Dragonstrike, named for the legendary beast that attacked from above without warning. She an a small group of volunteer nobles would sail forth and raid Thalmarkin's northern coastland to draw pressure from the Front. The plan met with only limited success and was swiftly beaten off by General Solari of Thalmarkin. Upon returning to the Front, Kalixta encountered Alitoth Himoura, whose inflammatory remarks caused her to challenge the older man to a duel to first blood. Honor was satisfy when she sent him home wounded and chastened.

Kalixta never was a "bigger picture" sort. She paid little attention to the constant shuffling of the upper echelons. So it came as a surprise when King Yeux asked her to take up the duties of Praetrix, Melhed's Judge. Sworn to obey, she could not refuse. Besides the Execution of the known Infiltrator, Kuvio the Red, her actions in that office had little significance and less impact. Yeux's announcement that he planned to retire and let his new young wife, Maya, rule Melhed came as yet another surprise. Maya's first move was to secure Kalixta's grudging support, for the older woman viewed Yeux's departure as an abandonment.

== Lion'El the Forsworn==

Rynn's older brother, Lion'el was displaced after a falling out between him and his father, allowing for Rynn to become a D'Haran knight in his stead. The falling out was bitter and allegedly also caused the sister, Kalixta, to leave home in anger.

No Longer welcome in the family home, Lion'El took to a life of adventure out of necessity. For him, clearing the land of Undead and monsters doubled as a vent for his frustrations and a source of income. In his prime, he was an excellent swordsman and never lost a duel.

As time past, Lion'El became less concerned with hating his family, his brother Rynn in particular, and more taken with his own future. Through feats of valor and servitude, he eventually obtained everything that he needed in order to leave Dwilight and become a knight himself. It was Ismail Tandaros who signed the final recommendation.

Uncharacteristically elated, a stroke of fancy caused Lion'El to take a wife, Selenia, whom he had met while traveling through Aurvandil. But the bells had barely begun to ring before tragedy struck. Lion'El went towards the nearest city, Madina of the Falkirkian Freestate, to secure passage to Belutarra. Despite the fact that there was a war between his home realm, D'hara, and Falkirk, and that the Dragon Corsairs of D'Hara were camped just over the hill with their Fissoan allies, Lion'El felt that surely a commoner would not warrant any attention.

Surely, he was wrong.

While at the dock, mere hours away from his new life. Lion'El was arrested, beaten, and imprisoned by policemen under orders of Judge Carmine Umpeta Perticta. Lion'El was later robbed of his gold, tortured, and publicly executed. His body was left on display for the crows. Selenia, his new wife, would later find his remains.

== Selenia the Corsair==

Selenia, a blond-haired, fair-skinned serf of a brutal Aurvandilan minor noble, was barely past her girlhood when a swaggering adventurer, Lion'El, took notice of her. Pretending to be a Lurian Noble, he bartered for her release upon the promise that the Lurian Queen, Alice Arundel at the time, would hear of it as an example of Aurvandilian fair bargaining and goodwill.

Selenia, suddenly free of a lifetime of burden, felt that surely she most have entered into a dream. Unfortunately, that dream would soon become a nightmare. The couple spent their first few weeks together happily. They were swiftly married and Lion'el spent a great deal of time teaching her skills he had learned alone in the wild. Little did she know that he was preparing her to endure without him for a time. Lion'El informed her that he was leaving to become a knight. This seemed a grand thing to Selenia, who busied herself with thoughts of homemaking and children. But Lion'El never came back.

A week past, then two, until finally the new bride could stand it no longer. Picking up her pack, she set out after him, tracking him through the D'Haran warcamp. An adventurer named Markus directed her to Madina City, where the site that greeted her would haunt her nightmares for years to come: Her husbands broken and rotting corpse hanging aloft in a cage from the city walls. Her screamed aroused the brutal city guard, and she was swiftly taken into custody. Fully expecting to be maimed and murdered as her husband was, she spare no restraint in berating her husband's killers. Curiously, she was released without so much as a word.

Knowing her time in the South was over, she traveled north to make a name for herself in her Husband's homeland of D'Hara. She found herself a small hovel and hard work as dock crew in Port Raviel. But upon the Eve of Dragon King Machiavel Chernier's Coronation and Wedding to Dragon Princess Selena, Selenia's life would change forever.

== Kharyn and Kyryn the Royal Twins==

The Royal twins were born in the Winter of the 23rd year. Their mother kept secret which of the two had been born first. Rynn had been unable to witness their birth as he had been spending his last days as Prime Minister persecuting an aggressive Campaign against the Monarchy of Saffalore, then based in Chesney.

The twins first years were defined by travel, spending their first few months with their mother in Golden Farrow before she brought them to Port Raviel and their father. The family rarely has the chance to be together, but the twins are strong and healthy.

Rynn is a man who defines himself by the relationships he builds. Originally hailing from the Desert of Silhouettes in Dwilight, the JeVondairs had only taken an interest in affairs beyond their sandy borders (2012-02-18). This was perhaps caused by the uprising that saw the current Baron, Marco Penchant, overthrown.

In the days prior to the revolt, Rynn had announced himself to the realm and decided to pay homage to his Duke, Kendal Forbes, in Sallowtown. A journey that would take him from the desert through the badlands of Sallowild. It was there that he had his very first experience in battle. A host of monsters had descended upon the region, sluaghtering all in thier path. Rynn deployed his archers, whom he had dubbed the Wind Daggers, to defend the regions people. They were joined in the field by the last remaining militiamen of Jonsu Himoura, then Baroness of Sallowild. Though the battle was won, her forces died to a man. The Baroness would later thank Rynn for his efforts by inviting him to her manor house nestled in the sparsely wooded hills of the region. It was in this way and through subsequent visits that Rynn grew to know and befriend Baroness Jonsu Himoura, who would become his very first political ally in days to come.

Opportunity reared it's head when Baron Marco lost his seat, and Rynn determined that it was time for the desert to be ruled by one of the sandborn themselves, rather than an outsider.. In the elections that followed, Rynn campaigned toward that goal, but it was not until Baroness Jonsu voted her support that things finally shifted to his favor. When the Referendum ended on 2012-02-29, he was invested as the new Baron of the Desert of Silhouettes and the former lord Marco retired to a role as a trader. Rynn had been a knight for 11 days and was 18 years old.

Rynn's triumph was short-lived, however. At the time, the Desert was bordered on all sides save one by rogue regions. swarms of unclean hordes plied their way West into his lands, depleting the strength of the Wind Daggers so much that Rynn was forced to the capital, Port Raviel, to rearm and resupply. Tragedy greeted him upon his return. In his absence, a horde of monsters discovered where the majority of the JeVondair clan had hidden themselves. There were no survivors. The desert's population was reduced completely to zero.

It was then that a discussion arose in the House of Lords as to the value of holding onto the Desert. Baron Rynn and Duke Kendal were far and away the most outspoken for maintaining the region, if only as a defensive measure.Duke Kendal sponsored a new army, the Scorchers of Notus, to deal with D'Hara's eastern threats. Setting up a system of ever rotating knights, the Scorchers have ensured the integrity of D'Hara's eastern border ever since.

It was on one such rotation back to the capital that Rynn first encountered Mathias Ridder. A dour man of no charisma who would nevertheless become a lifelong acquaintance and ally. Wielding a massive great sword as long as he was tall, Mathias taught Rynn the basics of dueling, defeating Rynn several times in the training arena before admitting that swordfighting was a true passion of his.

Months past. Rynn rarely concerned himself with situations outside of D'Hara until he was approached by a Solarian named Francis Duvalle, who would later become Solaria's judge under the rulership of Malus Solari. The two struck a fast friendship, envisioning a international guild that would help monitor and defeat rogue threats as they arose, rather than waiting for them to invade settled regions. During Rynn's time as Baron, he also played host to Edmillison De Coivos and Gornak Gellander, D'Hara's judge and fiduciary respectively. Cultivating these relationships would help Rynn later. Rynn's first inkling that something was very wrong in Solaria came when he received a letter from Francis Duvalle, begging him to watch over a common girl with whom the man had fallen in love. Rynn never heard from his friend again, and was later informed that his murder had been orchestrated at the highest level of Solarian government. Nevertheless, Rynn was unable to focus on the issue for long, as tragedy would strike again, this time affecting the whole of D'Hara.
