| The sacking of Tahgalez | |
Early this morning, the army of Heen gathered in Watersdown, the biggest army in the desert in a long time. As soon as all were present, High Marshal Martana gave the order to attack Tahgalez, the stronghold capital of Varyamo Nolvo that has a Keep to defend. The Keep turned out to be pretty useless, however, since there were only 47 soldiers of Varyamo Nolvo to hold off the Holy troops of Heen, which counted a total of 193 men. The defenders were outnumbered and quickly overmastered by the troops of Heen. On the side of Heen all commanders remained untouched, while Mao, Duke of Tahgalez and Marshal of the army of Varyamo Nolvo was seriously wounded, and Wolfgang, Chancellor of Varyamo Nolvo, was seriously wounded as well. After the battle had ended, not a single soldier of Varyamo Nolvo was still fighting fit. The few that were still alive fled into the alleys of Tahgalez with their commanders, and the troops of Heen quickly spread out to intercept any transports of tax gold from Varyamo Nolvo. Surprisingly many bushels of food were also intercepted and burned, to prevent the troops of Varyamo Nolvo from finding high-moraled and well-fed recruits. King Scion the Skilled, who couldn't make it to Tahgalez in time, congratulated his High Marshal with this victory and declared that he was very proud of his troops. Lady Martana was, well, modest as ever, and said the victory was obvious. Still, you don't succesfully attack an enemy's capital every day. At last the long expected sacking of Tahgalez has begun. | Dead Angel flees | |
After the overwhelming victory of the Holy army of Heen in Tahgalez, all the units from Varyamo Nolvo were scattered from the battlefield. Among those scattered units was the unit of Dead Angel, one of Heen's biggest foes. Surprising to see was that after he had rallied his men, he ordered them to set out to Kording. The coward ran away from his capital and sought help in a region with barely a few men of population left. It is stunning that the peasants of Kording even allowed Dead Angel to come, knowing that he and his fellows of Varyamo Nolvo have let the population of Kording get massacred by the rogues, and that Dead Angel was giving up his capital. The remark of Count Erin of Kif after hearing about Dead Angel's flee was completely justified: "Hahaahhahaha look! Dead Angel is running to kording! hahahahaha! Coward won't make a last stand in his own capital. If I were him I would stay and let the men of Heen kill me." (MTS) |
| Conquering of Hcallow and Watersdown | |
This morning, a few hours after sunrise, King Scion the Skilled arrived in Hcallow. He was there not just as a passerby, he had a goal: he wanted to spread the word of Heen and bring Hcallow under the same banner as Ling, Heen and Kif. His men quickly spread out to seek the local peasants and convince them that Heen was their home rather than the dying Varyamo Nolvo. Hcallow had been under the banner of Heen before, and Heen still had the claims over Hcallow. Considering the brutality Hcallow was conquered with by Varyamo Nolvo last time, the convincing process shouldn't take too long. Hoping that the peasants would be convinced quicker, more troops entered Hcallow. At about the same time, Beatrice and the unit she had brought from Joppo had the same goal. The takeover in Watersdown was practically the same as the one in Hcallow: it had been under Heen's banner before as well, it was brutally taken by a hatred enemy and now Heen tries to recapture it with a takeover-unit and other forces to support it. The only difference is that the hatred enemy that took Watersdown was Vice. During these takeovers, it's becoming more and more clear that this strike has utterly destroyed Varyamo Nolvo: Tahgalez is looted halfway to the ground, one region is being taken over and the last one is completely wrecked by rogues. The few troops Varyamo Nolvo had left were beaten while trying to defend Tahgalez. Rumours are already spreading that some prominent figures from Varyamo Nolvo would seek hail under the banner of Heen, hoping for mercy and a better life, better than the life they have been living in Varyamo Nolvo the past months. | Shocking news from Joppo | |
Once again, Joppo has the unpleasant honour to be part of the hors d'oeuvre of the undead invasion. A scout report from Roland, Duke of Twillen (Mesh) has shown that a horde of almost 2000 undeads was seen plundering and destroying Joppo, the capital of the realm Joppo - while it still lasts. With a total of 25.000 CS, they are a huge danger for the troops of Mesh. This horde will surely not leave the local population unharmed either. The 7500 citizens that have served Joppo for so long will all suffer from this. My sincerest condolences to the former Jopponites amongst our ranks, this must be a horrible news for them to see their former home being destroyed like that. It is not the first time that Joppo was targetted by undeads: Last month there were three undead hordes raging in Joppo, each of them smaller, but together as big as the one now. I am still wondering what the citizens of Joppo have done to enrage the gods like this. (MTS) |
| Wolfgang joins Heen | |
A few hours after sunset, an unexpected noble joined the ranks of the Heenites. What was already common knowledge in the Holy Council from the day before, was new to the rest of the Heenites: Wolfgang Lucifer, former Chancellor and Minister of Finances of Varyamo Nolvo, has left the nobility of our hatred enemy Varyamo Nolvo and joined the ranks of Heen. The mistrust towards Wolfgang among the Heenites was expectable and very understandable: Wolfgang was a follower of Scion the Skilled during the rebellion Scion started in Varyamo Nolvo, and he supported Heen even while in Varyamo Nolvo, nevertheless he stayed in Varyamo Nolvo. Wolfgang however did his best to avert the questions that Medium sent to Wolfgang to test his loyalty. He said that he didn't strive necessarily for the survival of the realm Varyamo Nolvo, but to see the desert lands united under one banner, and as Varyamo Nolvo had the most chance to fulfill that according to him, he supported Varyamo Nolvo. "Throughout my time in Varyamo Nolvo I have had but one goal, to ensure the best lives for our people. This is why I initially supported the rebellion under Scion. However, after it had 'failed', I felt it necessary to continue to serve the legitimate Government, and seek to unite our lands and our people once more under one state. I serve whoever is best able to serve our people and the most able to reunite our lands. That role has now been turned over to Heen, and it is with no regrets that I now join you in your efforts to reunite what belongs to our people. It is imperitive that the lands and people of the realms of Heen, Varyamo Nolvo and Vice join to create one powerful realm. I believe the time has finally come when this can be acheived, and it will be Heen who is strong enough to acheive this." He also that he had strived for peace among the desert realms, but did not hear anything useful from Vice's side. "I was in contact with Scion concerning a lasting peace and end to the conflict. True, these peace agreements were nowhere near final, but they were the best we could have hoped to come to considering the general opinions of the majority of my countrymen. Furthermore, ask him how I supported Heen throughout this period. Anyone can see that those in Vice are incompetent. It did not matter who was ruling them, but I couldn't hope to receive a decent answer from them regarding anything." To Medium's question why Wolfgang strived for peace as Chancellor, a peace that would make the three realms live on together where he wanted to see one, Wolfgang responded that he was under the pressure of his people. "You have to realize that, despite my dreams of our lands once again being under one banner, I was ruling over a people whose only goal was to destroy Heen. The only way our lands could be reunited again would be to see my own realm taken over, and that was not an appealing thing to do willingly." At last Wolfgang declared that Hedonism was a danger to all as it strongly influences the politics, especially in Vice: "I have no interest in religion whatsoever. I am a politician and firmly believe religion has no place in anything concerning the state. I can say, however, that as Hedonism is a religion which is heavily involved in the politics of Vice, that I am against it and any other religion which gets in the way of more important things for that matter." After this series of questions to test Wolfgang's loyalty, it turns out that the Heenites are willing to give it a try with Wolfgang. Now it is up to Wolfgang to prove that he is worth the trust. | Both takeovers averted | |
After three days, the peasants in Hcallow yesterday decided to stand up against the troops of Heen and avert the takeover, and averted it. A shameful waste of time and gold for King Scion the Skilled and his companions, who had been looking forward to finally putting Hcallow back under the banner of Heen. There was however still another takeover running in Watersdown, and so the troops in Hcallow went there to support that one and make it succeed. The gods weren't in favour of the Heenites, however. After the averted takeover in Hcallow, the peasants in Watersdown followed their example and ended the takeover just the same, despite the reinforcements from Hcallow. Rumours speak about wizards and witchcrafters, as they are stunned that an army of 152 men cannot even take over a region in which the population number officially insinuates that the following 43 peasants that come to live in Watersdown should be killed in order to balance the population again. | Takeover averted again | |
After the failed Takeover of Watersdown two days ago, the Holy army of Heen went refitting in the capital, and this morning they had already gathered again in Watersdown, to complete the job they had come for. Early in the afternoon, King Scion the Skilled initiated the Takeover. Since the peasants in Watersdown had provoqued the Heenites the first time by brutally averting the Takeover, it was time to punish this brutality with a brutal Takeover. Since the population registers of Watersdown showed that since two days ago the population had not changed, and thus there was no population at all, the Takeover was to go very smoothly and quickly. By sunset, however, the Heenites heard that the Takeover force had stopped taking the region since there were massive protests from the local population who has averted the takeover. Local population? The population registers show us that there is no population, and there are still too many. More than ever rumours say that a Hedonistic witch is summoning demons and monsters to replace the local population and stop the army of Heen from retaking what is rightfully theirs. (MTS) |
| Protests against new takeover | |
After the brutal avertings of the takeovers in both Watersdown and Hcallow, the Heenites had gotten enough of these protests. Brutality must be punished with brutality, and so yesterday, King Scion the Skilled started a new takeover in Hcallow - a brutal one this time. Immediately the troops of Heen spread out to show the remaining population that provoking Heen does not go unpunished. Taxes that should've been paid to Heen months ago, but that were instead paid to Varyamo Nolvo, were collected from the local peasants. The troops also noticed that the food in the stores in Hcallow was either rotten or poisoned, so in any case not edible, and as such burned. Hoping that the peasants of Hcallow would see the evil that their realm had been doing to them, the troops brought the peasants together at the burned food and showed them what they had been eating. They let a goat eat some of the food that had not been caught by the flames yet, and saw it dying. The peasants did not very much appreciate the takeover. Even though they were freed from the poisoned food, they blamed Heen for being starved now. After King Scion the Skilled and his troops had entered the house of the biggest family in Hcallow, consisting of 19 family members spread over 4 generations, those that lived in that house opposed to the Heenites. While the 6 women and the one great-grandchild hid themselves under the table, the twelve other family members took up their knifes and their improvised weapons and attacked. Immediately the King got reinforcements, and the twelve attackers were surrounded and disarmed, and taken in captivity. The next day - today - the takeover is still running. High Marshal Martana needed an outlet, and so she went teasing a young couple sitting on a bench - one must pay attention to what Martana and her sadistic mind calls teasing. The two got angry and attacked Martana and her squad, but once again they were taken into captivity. It is now waiting for the Takeover to end to move on. (MTS) |
| Takeover failed | |
While the troops of Heen were sitting in Hcallow yesterday, waiting and doing nothing, Martana ordered the larger units to attack Tahgalez to take out their army of Vice. She did not know that Vice would be able to use the fortification in Tahgalez, since there were no troops of Varyamo Nolvo around to let the Vicers in the fort. She was hoping for a battle on the open field, which would lead to a victory for the Heenites, but eventually the Vicers did use the fort, and so the Heenites - even though fighting bravely and trying to scale the fort several times - lost and were forced to retreat to Hcallow in the afternoon. When they heard that the army of Vice was attacking Hcallow, the Heenites retreated to Heen and used their taxes to recruit new units. As a result of this withdrawal, however, there were - logically - no troops left in Hcallow this morning, and as such the takeover could not proceed, let alone succeed, and the Hcallowians immediately returned to their former loyalty towards their careless ruler. | Slyther perished | |
Yesterday evening, around sunset, Celia and Medium arrived in Kif, to fight the small unit of archers that was accompanying Slyther, Paladin Primus and Fiduciary of Vice. The archers were quickly taken out, but Medium decided that it was not enough yet. He approached Slyther alone and challenged him to a duel till death for various reasons. After long hesitating, Slyther eventually accepted the challenge. At sunrise this morning, however, Slyther claimed that he had not restored fully enough from he recent casualty yet. Medium was dissapointed, but considered this forfait only as a delay of execution - literally. By sunset, Slyther got a second chance to prove himself, and the duel was fought. After a series of blows, Slyther blindly attacked Medium, neglecting his defence. Medium took advantage of that and striked Slyther in the neck - it broke. Slyther died a quick and painless death. | Latlan surrenders! | |
After a long time of war between Heen and the Vice-VN-alliance, a significant and very likely decisive blow has been dealt to Vice - from the inside. This afternoon, Attila, Duke of Latlan, has officially brought the city of Latlan under the banner of Heen, along with its 11200 citizens, as well as Sotrebar and Apokh, the two other regions in the Duchy of Latlan. Attila declared that Vice was too weak to make a fist against Heen. "At first I wondered how this happened and then one day it occurred to me suddenly as if out of nowhere. Hedonism. Hedonism had made the Nobles of Vice arrogant and weak. In making the nobles of Vice weak, it left no defence for the people of the desert and as such the people in all our realms have slowly died and vanished in the chaos of this schism. Watersdown, as I'm sure you all know, is now a ghostly wasteland and I get chills every time I travel through it." With the Duchy of Latlan now being under the banner of Heen, Vice now only has Watersdown left. Considering the total population of Vice has dropped by about 12500 inhabitants in one day, to -26 (!), we could state that Heen has definitively overcome Vice. Now that Varyamo Nolvo's ally has been defeaten, they see their end approaching quickly as well. Earlier they had absolutely no military strength at all left and were fully dependant of Vice's help, so now they stand alone, they will not stand long anymore either. (MTS) |

This morning, some magnificent news reached the nobles of Heen. After a long war, Mao, former Prime Minister, Minister of Defence and Supreme Judge of Varyamo Nolvo, and currently Duke of Tahgalez, followed the example of Attila and changed the allegiance of his stronghold to the holy banner of Heen, and along with it Kording, the other region in its duchy. Mao was tired of this warfare, and chose the side of the obviously strongest party in this war: "I had enough bloodshed. As some of the older people here may know, Attila, Medium, Celia, Wolfgang, Scion, my main goal during the rebellion leading to the split of VN was to reunite it. Unfortunatly, I chose the wrong course. But it is nice to be at peace. I am sick of war. Hopefully I can regain some of the good times of old." Now that both Latlan and Tahgalez and their duchies have joined Heen in a period of two days time, this civil war is finally running at his end. Vice has been reduced to only Watersdown with a population of -14. Varyamo Nolvo can at least be proud that since two days, it's been having a higher population than Vice, something that they could not say in a very long time. However, the difference now is not very big, since also the lands of Varyamo Nolvo have been reduced to only one region, Hcallow, with a population of 64. Remarkable is also that Heen still holds the claims on both Watersdown and Hcallow, as well as on the regions it now has. After these latest evolutions, the war with Vice and Varyamo Nolvo is over. Heen has overcome Hedonism and its two harbouring realms, and may from now on declare itself as the true, one and only victor in this war. The annexation of Hcallow and Watersdown are only formalities. Congratulations to all the leaders of Heen and thanks to all those who have bravely fought for Heen every day since they arrived here! | Girl power in Sotrebar and Apokh | |
Yesterday, King Scion the Skilled handed out the Lordship of one of our newly gained regions, Sotrebar. Lady Beatrice was the happy receiver of the rank. Since she has sought hail in Heen after her adventure in Joppo, she has served Heen with loyalty and dignity, and for her service she is now rewarded with the Countship of Sotrebar. From now on Countess Beatrice is a true Lady of Heen. Today, it was another Lady's turn to become a Lady of Heen. From now on, Joan is the new Baroness of Apokh. Congratulations to both! (MTS) |
| Beatrice disappeared | |
After her appointment two days ago, Lady Beatrice today swore allegiance to Attila, Duke of Latlan. Since Sotrebar lies next to Latlan, it was an obvious choice. A few minutes later, however, the news reached the nobles of Heen that Beatrice had disappeared right after the formalities about the allegiance were completed. Rumours say that she was kidnapped by some rebellish inhabitants of Sotrebar who did not like to be in the Duchy of Attila, whom they consider as a traitor. According to the rumours, it was Beatrice's unit that lead the kidnapping. Duke Attila immediately went to Sotrebar to investigate what happened, and got attacked by Beatrice's unit. Attila easily won, but the men of Beatrice refuse to say where they have hidden the Countess. All we know now is that she is probably brought to a Vicean hideout, and probably the Vicean peasants want to convert Beatrice to Vice, to get Sotrebar back on that way.(MTS) |
| Varyamo Nolvo destroyed | |
Some hours ago, interesting news reached us. According to our source, Chancellor Eldrin of Varyamo Nolvo has handed over Hcallow to Heen, in the presence of our King Scion the Skilled. It is hard to believe, but it is reality: Eldrin has indeed given away the last region of Varyamo Nolvo to Heen, and has as such decided that the realm Varyamo Nolvo be destroyed, since it has no more regions left. That is one region less to take for the Heenites. There is loud protest in Hcallow about the transfer, but those patriottic souls in Hcallow must not forget that they were as only region left in Varyamo Nolvo, and as such they had noone to support them. At last Hcallow is back under the banner of Heen.(MTS) |
| Reconstruction | |
As the war is now already over for more than a week, the time is now to rebuild the regions and bring them back into shape. Sadism has caused us to leave Watersdown under Vice's banner for a little longer, to witness Vice's agony, and because Watersdown at this stage would only bring us losses. With four bureaucrats, Alana, Beatrice, Mao and Nikki, the lands of Heen are now getting in a good shape under the banner of Heen. only Apokh and Hcallow are currently still worrying, but the bureaucrats are working on that as well and it should not take much longer before those are stabilised as well. In the meantime, King Scion the Skilled has forged several alliance, securing that Heen can rebuild its lands without worries. May it be a blessing that Heen can do this. (MTS) |
