- Obviously, remove all frames
- Use CSS Sprites for left sidebar (and eventually, all header images too. Will save bandwidth and increase speed of page load)
- Unobstrusive JS/CSS wherever possible
- Graceful degradation of JS so that non-supporting browsers do not b0rk
- Try and optimize the layout to improve speed
