Janna Da Hadez had fought long and hard in the dank passages of the tomb. The narrowness of the structure had worked her favour as the army of stinking rotted copses could only engage her two abreast after clambering over the now still remains of their damned kin. Their leader had led them and fallen quickly and it had then been a simple question of whether her stamina could outlast the numbers of the enemy as their skill was negligable for all their demented ferocity.

Upon slaying the last of them she had proceeded into the main chamber of the tomb and sorted through the poorer than expected grave goods, weapons and trinkets looking for something of interest or value.

Eventually she came upon a musty velvet bag weighted by a solid object around the size of an apple. She opened the bag and was immediately blinded by an agonisingly bright burst of purple-white light. For an hour she stumbled, unable to see past the searing yellow afterimage, with her sword drawn until she emerged into hazy and blurred sunlight.

Over the next few days she experimented with the gem that the bag had contained. It seemed that if the gem was exposed to the bright sun for a few hours then shrouded in thick fabric the light was reflected and magnified inside the gem until such time as it was exposed; at which time a blinding flash would erupt from it.
