A chronicle of the bloodstars and that which they influence, kept by Munsel Keen. A copy is maintained by the priests of the temple of Sanguis Astroism in Eidulb.

The State of Dwilight upon my Arrival - Spring 20 YD
After fighting my way through a fierce spring storm I reached the shores of Dwilight. My survival must be attributed to the grace of the bloodstar Austere, for without its guidance my ship would surely have been lost. Here I shall recount my initial impressions of the people and realms of Dwilight. I hope that the reader will find my foreignness adds an interesting sense of perspective to my experiences of this strange and massive continent, rather than simply betraying my ignorance.

Astrum

After landing on the coastline of Zereth I found myself warmly welcomed by the nobility of Astrum. Northern Dwilight is a relatively sparsely populated region where the nobility finds itself significantly outnumbered by peasant natives. Astrum itself is the largest realm on Dwilight at the time of writing. This may be a temporary phenomenon, as it has only recently absorbed some regions from the failed state Kabrinskia; the remaining Kabrinskian nobility intends to reform their realm at the soonest time possible.

After accustoming myself to the realm of Astrum I swore fealty to its Vasilif, Duke Sergio Mozzoni of Eidulb, as fine a leader as any realm has known. His grant of the docks and harbour area of Eidulb was extremely generous. Another man of great wisdom and nobility in Astrum is Duke Brance Indirik of Libidizedd, who provided me with much wise counsel and is rumoured to enjoy hunting with sea eagles! Both of these great leaders of Astrum were among its seven founders, and it is a tribute to their dedication and loyalty that they have served the realm for so long.

The Struggle for Paisly

Far to the south, the warlike realm of Aurvandil has come to blows with a grand alliance of astrocracies and marocciden realms, colonising the city of Paisly to which D'Hara has the juster claim. Although the prowess in battle of Aurvandil's nobility cannot be questioned, their diplomacy and stewardship lead much to be desired. I have heard that their rule is so tyrannical that great peasant uprisings have broken out across their lands, such that Aurvandil must now fight both its enemies and its erstwhile subjects. Maddening sang out its superiority on the eve of battle between the grand alliance and Aurvandil, and the bloodshed was most terrible.

Iashalur

In the northwestern corner of Dwilight, the nobility of Iashalur has made a bold attempt to beat back the wilderness. These brave few have established control of a wide area; the question now is whether they will be able to hold it.

The Lurias

On the opposite side of Dwilight I have heard of a people who fight each other incessantly. From the sparse information I have been able to gather, the Lurian nobility is so great in number that only the most cut-throat and cunning can claim power and prestige. I cannot help but think that these nobles would do better to head north to more civilised lands, where there are more opportunities for advancement, but perhaps the theocracies are better off without an influx of such untrustworthy schemers.

The Church of Sanguis Astroism

The elegance of the theology of Sanguis Astroism is only matched by the church's vast numbers of followers. It seems to me to be a thriving church with well established protocols and customs. From the church's birthplace in great Morek it has spread across the north of Dwilight, now encompassing the theocratic astrocracies of Astrum, holy Corsanctum, Iashalur and Morek, with followers in many more realms besides.
