Adventure Journal!

Dear Journal,

Mommy has me write down what me and daddy do while I'm with him! So this is why I'm writing this, and Hi Mommy! So today will be the first day I stay with daddy... It sounds fun! though I didn't get to see daddy until I got to his place, so I was bored looking around the carriage. and their was a boring woman sitting across from me the whole time! She didn't even say anything until I tried leaving the moving carriage. I didn't think she could talk, it frighten me when I heard her voice! Then she looked scared to, and didn't say anything even when I talked to her, inches from her face.

...

Dear Journal,

I miss mommy and our bed! I had to sleep alone last night, and I didn't really sleep at all. The bed was too soft, to big, I felt like drowning! As well, daddy took me on a boat! Nothing like the ones at your place mommy! With lots and lots of statue men and pretty ladies! Daddy was taking about gods and stuff, I wasn't really paying much attention. Not until one of the pretty ladies put this cold colorful stuff on my face. But I forgot it was there after a bit. Daddy must like those statue men, I see them everywhere we go! they don't move much, and they don't talk to me, like the boring lady the other day! Daddy's is exciting, but some things about it is boring. I miss you mommy! I want to laugh with you again. When am I coming home?

...

Dear journal,

I'm a fourteen year old girl now, and mother still thinks I'm too young to go to my friend's estates for a visit lasting no more then a week. I know I must have broken her heart when I asked for my own bed, when I was eleven, but she is holding me so far away from others. I see them and I see what they can do, and then I see my life. I mingle with them and attend parties, but my mind and life is else-where. It's with Mother, I'm held just above her work, and other familys. I cannot be a lady of the court, nor am I really allowed to train. She doesn't think I'm ready.

But what Mother doesn't know is that one of her veterans, a nobleman name Largo, has been showing off to me... He may not notice it, but everything he shows before me, I have applied to my own little training. I have a broken broom shaft, with a chefs knife tied to the end. But that is not all of my hidden arsenal, I have flint daggers, and ready-made traps, torches, shields, bombs, and other things I created whilst mother was away, and I could advert the eyes of my maidens. Though one of them, Marabella is her name, is keeping my secret as well. I honesty do not know how this old maid has found every single one of my hidden weaponry, or why she hasn't told my mother, or Sir Tomas. She just comes before me with a smile on her face, telling me how much I am like her mother when I was her age, but also on how I didn't know anything about her. She said I was nothing like a Blakeshadow! but she also said it was a good thing. And that my Mother was told that everyday of her youth, and that her parents, my grand parents, fought the rest of the family because of her.

Why? And would they fight over me? And why can I only think about returning to the family estate with these torches?

Oh Mother! what have you endured at their hands? The loss of your mother and father? The loss of your Home? The loss of your fair roots?

Is this why you love me so that you tie me to our gate, and cry every night I'm with father? There is so much I wish to know, and so much I'm told that I can do because of what you have done for me.

Won't you let me dance with a spear?
