Gheric is the oldest child of Fisc and his wife, Luna Dawnstar. Born in the city of Gelene on the continent of Dwilight in the realm of Everguard, Gheric was the first High Prince to be born in the realm, as his father was serving as High King at the time of his birth. Gheric's early life was a difficult one, as Everguard faced merciless invasions by monster hordes, and repeated conflicts with neighboring realms who were repeatedly encroaching on their territory. Unlike princes in other lands who enjoyed comfortable living, feasts of plenty, and aristocratic educations, Gheric was frequently hungry, frequently slept in tents as he followed his father into the field, and had only a cursory education, heavily focused around martial training.

When his father stepped down from the Crystal Throne, and later when Everguard was destroyed by Astrum, Gheric's life grew very difficult. He never forgot, nor never every forgave the leaders in Astrum responsible for the betrayal. His parents and sister fled Dwilight when he was ten years old, seeking a quiet life elsewhere. Ten years later, Gheric departed for Dwilight to begin carving out his own name, obsessed with renewing his father's legacy by joining Westgard, the realm that stands in the same place his father's realm once stood. There, in the shadow of the Gold Sea War he rose to the rulership of Westgard, reviving the old Everguardian title of High King, sitting upon the Crystal Throne, and wearing the Emerald Crown. He ended the war, forged continental peace, and led an unprecedented expansion of the realm to its largest extent in history, ushering in the Golden Age of Westgard. He has married twice, first to a princess of Tol Goldora, Ninsianna Nuanet, in an arranged political marriage to guarantee the Golden Farrow Accords, and then later for love to the Lady Alessia de Medici. Upon his retirement saw the crown pass into the hands of his wife Alessia.

Having previously served as High King, Gheric Arylon was once again chosen to sit on the Crystal Throne, promising to reverse the near destruction of Westgard. During his tenure, an assassin from Luria Nova attempted to kill the High King, the High Adjudicator and several Westgard citizens. In response, after many warnings, Gheric declared war on the Lurians, beginning a war that would ultimately end with the death of the Lurian assassin. After the war concluded, he engineered the immigration of several citizens from Astrum to Westgard, as their realm began to disintegrate, making good on his promise to restore the prominence of Westgard. Due to advances in administrative capabilities, Westgard was able to radically expand its borders, once again commanding regions that had long since been abandoned, re-establishing The Great Western Wall, and raising the Emerald Flag of Westgard over most of its former Empire. Later in his reign, the realm of Wicrose, a vile realm that sprung from the wretched remains of Astrum, engaged in destructive attacks on Westgard, in particular its rural farmlands. After repeated warnings to stop attacking the realm and multiple chances given to Wicrose to avoid conflict, Gheric was forced to declare war to protect the realm. Westgard immediately recovered Libidizedd, which had been stolen and razed by Wicrose, and pressed the fight into the East, wiping out Wicrose's ability to wage war.
