Virish Arrassum was adopted because Shiro Arrassum, the head of the family saw lots of potential in him as a military leader and some as a politician and Lord.
He was tutored by Shiro for many years in Terran in Dwilight and extensively over the last 3 years while Shiro was at his family mansion helping his sister care of her new child.
