Aeterdust Family

The Aeterdust family is a new noble family, first sighted and now residing in Strahan, Atamara.

What is known about the Aeterdust Family

Nobody alive knows who founded the Aeterdust family and how long its roots span across history except for its few remaining members, but they keep it as their most safeguarded family secret (the first of many). What is known today is that a few years back, Vladimir Aeterdust, his wife Wensicia and their daughter Sheeana, appeared in Strahan, a rural region of the Cagilan Empire on the continent of Atamara. They had wealth and stature, but were completely unknown to anybody and all gossipers agreed their name fit them very nicely, since they seemed to appear out of nowhere in the realm. Strahan soon found out they are a clever, hardworking, trustworthy, yet brave and dignified sort of people, but they keep to themselves most of the time and have rather odd customs, starting with the names they all wear up to the peculiar coat of arms. There where also rumors that Sheeana also has a brother, a twin, a young man named Feyd, who left the family at an early age and found his way in the Colonies, a young man with strange tastes, who was said to be even more weirder than the rest of the family, but just as clever.

Other Aeterdust family members thrive in this world aswell, but their number is a mystery. Irulan Aeterdust has attested to belonging to the family, being one of Sheeana’s and Feyd’s first cousins, but whether on the father’s or mother’s side she never said to anyone. “It is the family that knows and only the family that needs to know” Irulan once answered when the question aroused. She is as much an Aeterdust like Vladimir, Wensicia and their children, living by the Aeterdust family motto: “Live what needs be lived, tell what needs be told, the rest is dust…”

Feyd Aeterdust

Feyd shares the exact same external features as his twin sister, but looks completely different: a handsome young man, with grayish blue eyes and pitch black hair, yet his face is hard, almost unmoving, his eyes cold and in the rare occasions he is smiling, only his lips are showing it, not his eyes.
Never feeling at home in Strahan or anywhere with his parents and sister, always the outcast, always the one with impure, unhealthy thoughts, the weird child his parents tried to straighten up or were ashamed of, he decided he has had enough and, at the age of 13, left home never planing to return, hoping never to see his family again. He traveled a lot, grew a dark sarcasm, learned fighting on the streets out of need, but found it quite enjoyable, took up cheating and stealing, forgot what it was to be good and kind and honorable and felt extremely satisfied being himself. Coming of age caught up with him in Outer Tilog, a realm where his tainted soul and dark past fit in perfectly, and he took up knighthood, but just in title, not in the honorable and noble sense of the word.

Irulan Aeterdust

Irulan was always described as resembling a fallen angel looking for ways to get back up again. She has hair the color of the sun in midday and the same Aeterdust grayish blue eyes, she walks with such grace as if she is floating and when she smiles she can light up even the darkest of nights. Yet in her eyes one can see the constant search, restlessness and melancholy of the seeker that can never find home.
As long as Irulan can remember she never belonged to a place. Her parents, closely related to Vladimir and Wensicia yet considerably wealthier than them, brought her up till the age of 8 and then put her in the best schools in the world so she can grow up to be a lady. It is there she learned the manners in which a lady should act, but which she always despised. Both her parents died of pneumonia when she was 14 and she was left with the entire wealth of the family, being an only child. She decided to sell the family estate, as she was not going to live there and continue her studies, but not to become a lady, but a knight. Irulan knew ladyship was not for her, something her singleminded parents never understood, she was ambitious and strongwilled and seeing the means to become a knight right in front of her, she seizes the chance. She completed her studies and became a knight in Sirion at the age of 17. Still, she did not belong to Sirion, it was not her home, but she did not know where home was. She was to live there until faith showed her a different path she can take that might lead her to a place she can call home.

All who have seen Sheeana describe her as pretty, dark-haired young girl with eyes the color of the sky at noon. Since her early age she has had a mild, tolerant temper, always friendly and smiling shyly. This young girl believed anyone can prove to be good and kind and was always willing to offer a second chance, yet she rarely opened to people, she keept a lot to herself, having low self esteem and fearing that others will not care or notice her. Sheeana has lived half her life in Strahan and, when coming of age, took up arms and became a knight of Strahan, defending the Cagilan Empire and honoring her father’s wishes. Vladimir Aeterdust always dreamed of seeing one of his children fighting for the realm where he was prospering, but he always intended Feyd to be that child. As Feyd left home at the age of 13, Sheeana was the only one left to grant her father's wish and resigned herself to her faith, enduring rigorous training without ever complaining. It was very challenging, quite brutal for a girl of her sort, but she never showed it for her father's sake and in time came to peace with her role. She grew stronger and bolder, learned to lead and, when becoming a knight, wore her title with pride. Still, not even fighting managed to totally cast into darkness her mild, understanding manners. She remained a kind, gentle sort of person, but her shy smile was now hardened, saddened. And it was her mild temper and her smile that made her soldiers devoted to her, no her leadership or fighting skills.
