He wrapped the thin blanket around his body and leaned again the night's biting wind, feeling Danost's eyes on him, smirking. Wiping the spittle from his numb lips, he looked back into the crowded boat, away from his partner and towards the shocked, scared mass of huddled peasants fleeing the city. He'd been silent since entering Fwuvoghor, shocked at the sight of so many Undead corpses littering the field before the walls of the small city.

"I believe you," he muttered through clenched teeth, his quiet reply drowned out by the wind and the murmur of peasants.

He couldn't see his Partner, but he knew he was smiling. "Do what?"

"I believe you," he said again, louder this time, "You gloating bastard, I believe you!" He stood, the deck shifting beneath his feet, throwing him off-balance as he turned on Danost. "I don't know why the hell you had the urge to drag me over the roughest terrain in Avalon, through a ruined stronghold occupied by a marauding army, and over a battlefield to prove me wrong, but you did!" Dropping to his knee, he leaned close to Danost, who sat there staring straight out over the side of the ship, at the rolling waves of the Fwuvoghor straight, a small smile on his otherwise uncaring face. "Can we go home now?"

"No."

"No?"

"No."

"Why?" Baldhart asked, puzzled, feeling suddenly stupid.

"Same reason I drug you through the roughest terrain in Avalon, through a marauding Army, and over a battlefield-" he turned to Baldhart, and his face broke out into a wide grin, "-Adventure!"

"Adventure?"

"Adventure. This is the most important event in the history of the entire world! Don't you want to be there, to live it?"

"Y'know, I ought to stab you on principal."
