Well, I suppose now is as good a time as ever to give a bit of a lesson, then.
As I believe you all know, Qyrvagg is the God of War and Battle. He is the supreme deity in Qyrvaggism, and beneath him are 2 others, Sartan and Eshen-Hosral. Sartan is the Demi-God of Virtuous Courage, of honor. Eshen-Hosral is the Demi-God of armies, of actual militarism. Beneath these demi-Gods are two different groups. The Avatars, and the Prophets. There are two Avatars: Tialok, the Phoenix Guardian, and Solecos, the Annointer of the Prophets. On equal level with the Avatars are the Prophets. The Prophets are led by the most recent incarnation of Prophesy, currently the THIRD, being me. Beneath the Prophets is the High Council, which is the Grand Priest, the Masters of the Holy Hosts, the Missionary Primus, and the Treasurer. Beneath them are the rest of the Elders, the High Priests, and the Arch Priests. The Elders are there to oversee the believers if need be, but mostly to help the Prophet decide on issues of administration or doctrine where Qyrvagg offers no clear guidance. The council beneath the Prophet is there to offer guidance and leadership whenever needed, and to tend to the Church when the Prophet is absent.
We believe that war is preferential to peace, for that is what Qyrvagg has shown the Prophets in their visions. In war, humanity is refined, or destroyed. War brings out the best in us, and the worst. It is when all is lost and hope is gone that virtue or vice becomes highlighted. That is when heroes fulfill their purpose, and cowards fulfill theirs. Metaphysical victory for the true hero, betrayal and death for the coward. War is a physical embodiment of the conflict within. Growth is achieved through conflict: testing of the self. Physical strengthening happens through pushing the limits of the body. Spiritual strengthening happens through pushing the limites of the body.
Qyrvaggism states that war is better than peace, combat better than beaurocracy. But how can a realm function without trade and beaurocracy? How can a religion function without priests? Such lines of work have their places, and Qyrvagg understands, fully and completely. Within the Church, there is unity. There shall be no descrimination against people in less violent lines of work: for Qyrvaggism is embodied in war, but must first have the heart, and a war could never be waged well without traders and beurocrats.
War is meant to be waged in full ferocity and might. Qyrvaggism supports full and open warfare. That means espionage, assassination, conventional battles, and looting. WITH ONE EXCEPTION- Murder of the peasentry and torching of food supplies. It is wrong to starve the innocent peasentry, unless it is a realm which openly hates the realm which supports Qyrvaggism(when both sides support Qyrvaggism, or both do not support Qyrvaggism, Qyrvaggism supports the war itself, neither side specifically). We will steal tax gold, knife opponents, incite rebellions, fight in open combat, level fortifications, but we will not massacre innocents. It is all right for members of the Church to fight wars against each other, it happens. But remember: within the Church, there is no nation. We fight each other, so that we may be more fully tested, and grow and walk further down the Path of the Amekanun. Conflict there will be, but always unity in that we all walk the path.
Duels are an honorable practice, to be encouraged and done freely. In times of war, much consideration must be put into duels, for it could immobilize much-needed troops. In times of peace, duels are often the only way to give glory to Qyrvagg through combat.
War is not a last resort. War is to be waged readily and joyfully, though not suicidally or stupidly. Remember: war is preferential to peace. Even a war that may end in death is a war worth fighting.
War should never be waged in hate. As soon as you hate your foes, you are doing wrong deeds. For in hating foes, you have destroyed whatever virtue you may have found in combat. Hate is the enemy of wrath. We do not hate our foes. We fight for the joy of combat, for the danger, for the test, for the glory of Qyrvagg. We do not fight for hatred or animosity's sake. Respect your foes. Congradulate them on their victories, participate in the banter of battle. Never hate your enemies. Defeat and slay your enemies, but do not hate them. Lay them low, and offer mercy.
Qyrvagg's powers are not limited to warlike practices. Qyrvagg is the only true God, and the greatest of all gods. The Amekanun is the only path to him. If we walk the Amekanun, nothing is beyond us. But whatever happens, victory or defeat, we are blessed: for we are on the Amekanun. When life is horrible, defeat rampant, and hope distant; we are blessed; for we are on the Path of the Amekanun.
There must be no ulterior motives. One must not be a follower of Qyrvagg so that one may win battles. One fight battles, and thus become a follower of Qyrvagg. Seeking power and miracles is wrongdoing. Faith must be for the sake of devotion to Qyrvagg and the virtues of battle, nothing else shall suffice. We worship Qyrvagg because he is God, not because he blesses us in battle. If he blesses us in battle, we shall rejoice and praise him. If we fail in battle, we shall rejoice and praise him.
The virtues of battle are, in order of importance, loyalty, courage, honor, strength, obedience, and fellowship. Loyalty is how we serve humanity and Qyrvagg, through unswerving devotion. Loyalty is dangerous, and requires courage to be effective. Courage without honor is empty and meaningless. Honor without strength of arm and heart cannot feed courage. Strength without obedient direction goes to waste, and shall never enforce honor. Obedience cannot be found without fellowship and community. Hold to these virtues, and you will most likely stay on the true path. Whatever is against these virtues, be wary of. LOYALTY foremost to Qyrvagg and the Path of the Amekanun, which leads to Qyrvagg through the Prophets. COURAGE in the face of avdersity, death, and, most importantly, life. HONOR and right action, behave in such a way that none shall have blackmail against you. STRENGTH is necessary to do these things, strength of mind and body, and is necessary to be victorious in battle and life's trials. OBEDIENCE to authority is necesary for otherwise there would be chaos, and the knowledge of the Path would be lost. FELLOWSHIP is important, friendship and brotherhood lead to unity of the Church and reparation of wrong after wars.
Never live life apathatecially. That is among the worst things you can do. Qyrvagg calls on us to rise up, and proclaim the true Path, demonstrate it, and die for it. On all issues, we are called to proclaim his truth. From the smallest matters of life(like how we treat our servants or the peasentry) to the largest(like how we determine our realm's politics) we must display a passionate faith in and devotion to Qyrvagg, by following the Path of the Amekanun, and displaying the virtues of battle. In all that you do, do it well, do it strongly, do it passionately. Apathy is among the worst of flaws, as well as anarchy, which destroys unity of the Church, cowardice, which wrongs the self and exposes ones friends and brethren and displays weakness, heresy, which leads the Church astray, pacifism, which leads to apathy, hate, which destroys the benefits of virtue, and materialism, which is nothing less than worshipping another god. Greed is a religion.
Qyrvaggism is our religion, and unified it must be. Every part of the body of the Church has its function. Some may be the hand, some the foot. Does the foot work the same way the hand does? No, they compliment each other, but are different. In the same way, many will have different beliefs concerning Qyrvagg within the Church. Be on the watch for heresy, but do not be too quick to judge. Be merciful, offer second chances, have forgiveness, but do not shirk from delivering punishment.
Spread the word in all that you do! Proclaim Qyrvagg's word and show the Path of the Amekanun! Do so passionately, with devotion, fervor, and conviction. Always be on the look out for those who may believe! There are many! Look for the warriors, look for the fire-hearted, and you will find those who, even before they heard of Qyrvagg, had him in their hearts, minds, and hands.
Remember that the Church carries the truth, no others do. Do not be swayed by foreign religions. Even if the cost is death or destruction of temples or banishment: do not shirk from true belief, do not shirk from passionate belief. Remember that only those who follow the Path of the Amekanun shall be in Qyrvagg's paradisal city. Only they, and no others. With this in mind, go and find those who will follow Qyrvagg.
