The cave stunk more of decay the deeper he went. Already five groups of beasts he had dispatched during his descent. Deep indeed was Vincent when the smell reached its apex, and there he found the big boy. The Alpha charged him from the darkness, Vincent stood his ground steadily. When the beast was within a few feet he flicked open the lantern cover with his finger, sending the concentrated light of the bulls-eye into the eye of the beast. It worked, the big boy blinked and that was all the time Vincent needed.
Among the piles of bones he found quiet a collection of silver, and a very interesting suit of Armor bearing the emblem of Sheja on its chest. The craftsmanship was exquisite, and remarkable once he had cleaned off the dirt, there was not a stain of rust on it anywhere.
