The Duel of Avamar

Erik was once again in Avamar and once again the city was celebrating. This time the circus sponsored by the Duke had brought wild beasts from the peninsula and other animals of arid lands that the common people never seen before. The Great Duke of Avamar was sitting on his throne on a stage in the main square. He had fire-eaters and young dancers to distract him. But what few people know is that at the beginning of night, Erik was invited to dance. The scribe has arrived with the message. Erik read the phrase "Shall we dance, my Dragon?" and smiled, searching Lady Rugina in the crowd.

The Silver Dragon had promised a duel and he never used to back with the word given, but he obviously feared seriously injure the opposing duelist. Erik gave to Lady Rugina few moments while the people watched without suspecting what would happen. Erik put the Ruron’s Shield on one side of the throne and the Sacred Sword on the other. When he lifted two squires approached and one offered an elven sword while the other removed the light armor Erik was wearing. The former Judge immediately took off his shirt to fight bare-chested. He had some visible scars. One of the bards realized what was happening and ran to make the announcement while the fire-eaters drew a large ring of fire.

The Bard: “People of Avamar, today you will see the great power of The Silver Dragon, our Duke. Warrior of countless battles. Champion of Dolmbar and Trinbar and fierce duelist. Blessed by Elune!”

The cry of the crowd was deafening. They wondered who would be the challenging. While the people were making made their mess, Erik went through the fire without fear. The flames licked his body, causing his white skin to sweat. But like a dragon, he was immune to the destructive power where his soul had been forged. Exhibitionist by nature, he moved the sword in the first movements of his dance while Lady Rugina Lady was brought to the circle. The people were screaming madly. The women showed their breasts while the men go mad with the beauty of the challenger. Erik smiled and as always before a duel, the bard sang a little encouragement to make the opponent give up before the first clash of blades.

A dragon dance

Invitation to peace

War staring you in the face

Trained and appropriate for the malcontents

For the disproportioned malcontents

The little boy smiled

It'll all be well

He like to push the weak around!

Erik smiled with the fire reflected in his eyes. Lady Rugina was young, fast and determined. The study lasted just few seconds. Both of them knew that dance very well, with swords or in a bed as lovers. The dragon gave the advantage and the initiative. He felt the rage of the young Lady attacking full of energy. Erik was having a lot of fun. He was smiling, parrying the blows without problems, showing a sophisticated and challenging art. The sword became an extension of his body and he danced. He didn't need to be much faster because he could predict her next movements. And sometimes he surprised her with the counterattacks, containing his blade before hurting her, giving the public a great spectacle.

Despite the advantage of youth, the fine art of Erik meant that she would get tired or irritated with the failure of her aggressive advances. And then, in an evasive maneuver the Duke spun around, left the swords kiss each other and slip up to invest in another decisive blow against her ribs, just below the breasts, drawing the first blood. There was a fierce blow. Probably that will not leave a permanent scar. When he felt her momentarily losing the ground, he dropped the sword and held her, calling the helaers. Erik smiled and gently kissed her reddened face before hes eyes shut down.

Erik Eyolf: "Take her to my room and take care of the wound. Serve wine and food for her recovery. I'm going in an instant."

There was a long time after the last duel. He was pleased to know that age was the loser as always. He celebrated with his people before walk successful and acclaimed to the Ivory Tower.
