Serpentis Family/Erik Eyolf/Rain & Storm - Part V
Some days ago...
Erik had a calm attitude. Stripped of the usual pomp and masks he was just an older elf who used to be. He listened and remembered his youth. A time when everything was magical and exciting and when his overwhelming desire led him to achieve all the dreams he had dreamed as a child living in Slimbar. He remembered the first major achievement in Dolmbar and the great disaster that was losing Captain Karl, his half-brother. The fair revenge that filled his soul. The Cavalier who abandoned the path of light to illuminate the night with flames of burning fields. Everything had turned into hatred and lust. And even the great Silver Dragon and Judge of Sirion accepted the claims of his people and invaded the temples he protected for a long time to to shed innocent blood. He remembered the glazed eyes of the poor Priest he executed without mercy. He was led up there as a child looking for forgiveness. Erik woke up with the touch of the young Lady, smiling for her.
Erik Eyolf: "Yes, I understand..."
There was a moment of silence. Erik never retreated after take a decision. He didn't think the Lady who hated him could have a positive reaction after everything he did. Perhaps she could see through him and it was dangerous. Erik answered in the only way he could, playing with her:
Erik Eyolf: "Don't worry, we will enjoy many new interesting positions."
The elf smiled and kissed her forehead. A tender kiss. He needed to breathe. Erik backed slowly out of the tent and ordered Captain Andre to lead the Stormwalkers through Glinmar. He will follow Lady Rain trhough Rollbar. For the first time he walked beside her through the forest trails. Obviously, he didn't care with what the soldiers might think. The Silver Dragon always flew above the ordinary men. And for Lady Rain could be amazing how Erik could be nice when he wanted or when he was alone with her. He told funny stories about Romul and some memories he had about Lady Hei. And he showed all his talent as a bard when he wrapped her around the waist and sang whispering sweet words in her ear.
When the dream came
I held my breath with my eyes closed

In a strange game

In some hours they would be fighting together. Erik would lead his Stormwalkers against wild beasts. And then, like a good dream, he would disappear. The war will put him far from home again to face the enemies. But that day in the woods of Rollbar he was only the little boy of Slimbar. Full of dreams and renewed hopes. Unfortunately, he would put the old masks and deal with old problems once again.
But that afternoon he was hers and hers alone.
