The Old Book of Betrayal is a rather nondescript tome. It fits easily in the hand, no matter who holds it. It is bound in brown leather and looks quite weathered. The only thing of note about the book's outward appearance is the closing clasp, about the size of a coin, that seems stained with a bloody sheen when shifted in the light. The text within it appears to be totally of no note; Perhaps the numbers and letters within are a ledger of grain reports. However, when you look closer there are sigils and strange symbols contained within the margins that speak of a hidden code. For all it's common appearance however, there is something compelling about the book that is recognized by all who see it. If it were placed upon a shelf with a host of other tomes you would know this book was special.
