The citizens of Alebad awoke to the quiet sound of distant bells ringing in through their windows and brooding black smoke on the horizon, steadily but quickly shutting out the sky and drifting towards the city. The gleaming white stone of the city turned dull as the hordes of panicked peasants started rushing into the city. They quickly shouted of monsters and evil attacking the outlying villages, burning their houses and killing all who tried stop the onslaught. The outside walls were bleached and discoloured, the door was only just holding in its place and the first room was dusty lookin. Saying there was a little furnishings was an overstatement, the room could not have looked barer. Venturing further in and through an archway revealed much improvement, there was a small cobbled courtyard bordered by the rest of the single story and double story buildings of the estate. A small empty fountain and basin were in the centre of the courtyard and a young ivy plant had sprung up against one of the buildings. A stair led up to the terrace which overlooked the courtyard on three sides.
