The Vetinari Family comes from Tarasac of Atamara.

Mervin

The Beginning

He is the elder of the two brothers. He has always been restless and when he came of age, he bought a fine seaworthy ship and set off for the distant continent of Dwilight. He got caught in a massive storm and his ship was heavily damaged and all navigational instruments were destroyed. Without a better guide, he followed a particular star in the sky, figuring it was better to continue in a single direction than to drift aimlessly. He made it to the land of Morek and the people there informed him he had indeed followed the Auspicious Star to the place he now calls...home.

As A Knight In Morek

He is a cautious man with his life and others'- even more so after a sudden ambush in Cailyn only hours after he arrived. Monsters killed every man in his party, and he lived only by a sacrifice of a friend. After that experience, he does not like leading his men when he knows when many of them will die, but feels it is his responsibility to lead the soldiers of Morek well and will continue to do so as long as he feels that is his best way to serve Morek.

The Marshal of the Order of the Maddening Star has recognized Sir Mervin's trustworthiness, and Sir Mervin led the Maddening Star Second Battalion against the perpetual monster invasion in Morek.

As A Founder of Aquilegia

Along with Lord Vesuvis, Sir Garret, and Sir Velox, Mervin left Morek to found the fair land of Aquilegia in Flowrestown. It did not go flawlessly, and some of Sir Velox's good men died in Fatexna. Sir Mervin has vowed to bring justice to them.

As of now, he is doing everything he can to ensure the long-term survival of this new realm.

Max

Max is the younger of the two brothers, and the more restless one. He left home with only a brief conversation with his stunned family, keeping only his name and a bag of gold and leaving everything else behind.

He abandoned his claim to nobility and spends life ambushing monsters and being ambushed.
