Varyamo Nolvo History
Varyamo Nolvo is in its origin and split off from the realm Voghor in Wudenkin. During the 2nd monster invasion the realm died against 40k CS of monsters in and around Wudenkin.
The refugees moved to several realms on this continent but the major part joined Dead Angel in Ashborn where the beautiful Lady Payton offered to give him help to setup the realm again. After the monster invasion, and as the time was right this promise was fulfilled and Varyamo Nolvo was recreated in the city of Heen.
During the re-creation processes of Varyamo Nolvo, Vice, a colony broken off from Mesh thought they'd be sneaky and try to beat us to some regions, they lead a quick, surprise TO on Ling. Due to recruitment troubles, Varyamo Nolvo was not able to actively fight Vice, but our allies Old Grehk and Ashborn stood at our side. Vice took the consequences that they could not win a war against 3 enemies especially as their ally Mesh said they would only defend Vice's original lands. After some diplomacy Ling was handed back. All parties negotiated a peace agreement then where Chancellor Dead Angel requested a cease fire till the 31st of January 2005. After this time Varyamo Nolvo and Vice had 2 months time to fight a 1 on 1 war without the involvement of allies.
Two weeks before the ceasefire was to end, We were attacked by three nobles who were trying to make it to Firbalt to colonise it before Ashborn took it. They attacked our capital of Tahgalez with an overwhelming 1500+ CS. We had very little warning of the attack and although the Duchess and Marshal of Tahgalez, Dorothy of Rose, tried to warn the attacking nobles to desist, they did not heed her calls. The first defence against the marauders was unsuccessful, but with help from Ashborn and Old Grehk the nobles were eventually driven away, with Old Grehk even successfully capturing and executing one of them.
With our capital looted of most of its gold Chancellor Dead Angel made an attempt to extend the ceasefire with Vice another two weeks. Vice said they wanted an alliance and desired no war with us, otherwise there would be no extension to the ceasefire. Despite Vicean claims, after some negotiation it was agreed that the ceasefire was to be extended until May 31st. Three more months after the original date. At the end of the ceasefire Vice and Varyamo Nolvo were still bound to fight each other 1 on 1 without the aid of allies.
In the end, war never took place between our realm and Vice, for both our realms recognised how much weaker we were fighting each other than if we united as one to bring strength and prosperity to our corner of Beluaterra. Thats not to say Vicean culture died out as a result however. It lived on through the religion of Hedonism which was started as both realms began the process of coming together. Hedonism soon came to serve as the Official religion of Varyamo Nolvo. Skadhi, former Chancellor of Vice, was appointed as the Duchess of Latlan, the former capital of Vice, after our realms united and she provided a voice for all the former Vicean people.
After a short time of peace and prosperity, war came to the people of Varyamo Nolvo. Its mother realm, Ashborn, had been attacked by Sint, an illegitimate daughter of Ashborn. Shortly afterwards, Plergoth forged some type of claim on Ren Madragas and also declared war on Ashborn. Chancellor Dead Angel quickly offered military aid to assist Ashborn in its two front war. Ashborn agreed, and Chancellor Dead Angel rallied the Novellian army and declared war upon Sint.
Due to the Chancellors agitation of his General during the conflict, a rebellion began. The rebellion seemed sure to succeed so the loyal dukes ceded their cities away, forming the realm of Heen and reforming the realm of Vice, leaving Varyamo Nolvo with only two regions. When the rebellion failed, the rebels fled to the larger realm of Heen, and managed to overthrow King Gaius Marius. Varyamo Nolvo then allied itself with Vice, and proceeded to fight the former rebels of Heen in an attempt to rebuild herself. Although there were some successes, ultimately we had little strength to forge the events of the war. Eventually, after Duke Attila of Latlan tore Vice apart and declared his allegiance to Heen, it became clear that Heen had won the war. Thus after many days of fighting, Duke Mao followed the example of Attila. Varyamo Nolvo was no more.
