A little about myself:

I Grew up in the Greater Los Angeles area in Southern California, USA. Graduated from Gladstone High School in 2001 (Valedictorian), and went on to finish my degree in Political Science in 4 years at UC Davis in 2005. During my 4 years in college I did all sorts of things, and had a terrific time (although the best part of it was finding my future wife)! One of the most memorable moments for me was living in Washington DC and working for The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) for a Quarter. While working there as the Director of Foriegn Policy's personal assistant, Dr. Gabriela Lemus, I learned a lot about grassroot organizations and government legislation in general. I was fortunate enough to enjoy a "behind closed doors" conversation with the Mexican Ambassador Carlos de Icaza and the Executive members of the National LULAC office, at a party he was hosting for the "Cinco de Mayo celebration" where political elites rubbed elbows and did what they do best: talk.

My primary interest in Political Science was Electoral Politics--voting patterns, electoral systems, voter apathy, etc. The whole electoral process is very complicated, and enticing at the same time. Someday I wish to apply my own approach to this complex manner, and raise voter participation in my own local community before suggesting it to others. My plans for a more motivated electorate are still in the infancy stage.

My ultimate aspirations are to continue my education and attend a Law School in the Los Angeles area, focusing primarily on Real Esate Law. So in the meantime I am a full-time Realtor, representing buyers and sellers in all sorts of transactions: Vacant Parcels, Commercial, Industrial, Multi-Residential/Residential properties. I also work part-time in the Loan portion of a real-estate transaction to better serve my client's needs, and to better answer their mortgage questions when they arise. My goal in this lifetime is to simply acquire enough funds to pursue my passion in Politics, and run for office someday to try and change the many things I see wrong with our political affairs...and go as far as I can without having to worry about providing for my family or going belly up in the process. As much as I hate to admit it, in the United States--and probably most countries in the world--getting into politics is generally a rich man's game. It requires a tremendous personal investment, and extraordinary risk. However, I have many friends who have already pledged to support me when I begin down my path, and my hopes are that others will join in the Cause as well when the time comes.

Cheers,

Stuart Santana
