More From the Front
By, Alise Athins
The past few days have been exciting on the war front. After losing to the Perdanese reinforcements in Greatbridge our armies refitted in Oligarch, and attacked the Perdanese garrison again. Parts of their army fled, and we only managed to catch 4k CS while another 3k CS retreated to Hagley, and 6k CS attacked Krimml. We attacked to relieve Krimml, but once again only caught straggler matching about one third of their force. We laid chase to the rest. On the southern front, the Lions, even though they were out-numbered, won a resounding victory against Caligus and the Confederacy of Fontan after which the TO of An Najaf succeeded. Lord Armstrong, who had won the referendum for it's lordship, is currently imprisoned. Lord Duncan was appointed in his stead as steward.

More Military Action
By, Alise Athins
Since the Victory in Greatbridge our armies have made quite some progress. In the south we retook Viseu, defeated Caligus, and are currently retaking An Najaf. In the west we have retaken Bruck, lost and retook Dulbin, and defeated Perdan in Greatbridge in a close battle though their reinforcements a day later took the field. In the north, the Sultanate of Asena and the Dark Angels army have held Sirion and OR back. The north has been locked into somewhat of a stalemate.

Also of note is that after we took Bruck Perdanese armies managed to move back in and it revolted to the SoA. The diplomatics of what will happen with it are uncertain, though Sultan Korkut has proposed that the SoA keeps it for the rest of the war, since they practice neutrality in our war with Perdan. They say that it will keep the people of Bruck from more suffering since they have been put through much already.

Debate Over the Lordship of Bruck
By, Alise Athins
This is a few days late, but better late than never. Upon the retaking of Bruck Lord Rory was unavailable. He was to be reinstated as is our law. At the time he was with his army in Viseu, a few days travel away from Bruck, and also injured. Lady Leane was appointed a temporary steward of the region. When Lord Rory healed enough to read messages he was outraged. A heated discussion was started and charges were eventually filed against the chancellor. Supreme Justice Moria conducted a trial even in the midst of much protest and decided in favor of Lord Rory. Again there was much protest. All this was rendered a moot point as Lord Rory decided he had had enough of Fontan and would be leaving.

Hamilton Captured
By, Alise Athins
This is about a week late, but better late than never. Hamilton Vita, Marshal and Banker of the Confederacy of Fontan, was captured in battle. Discussion arose as to what his fate should be. For those who do not remember, Sir Hamilton was banned from Fontan by Supreme Justice Katsuyori at the end of Rogal Dorn's Chancellorship. He moved to the Confederacy of Fontan. The debate on his future was taken to a vote in the assembly. It voted in favor of deportation with a tally of 15 for deportation, 13 for execution, and 1 for release. And Lady Moira put him on a ship headed for the Colonies.

Victory in Greatbridge
By, Alise Athins
Today on the fields of Greatbride the forces of Fontan handed Perdan a sound defeat. Though it originally appeared to be 20k of our CS up against 19k of their CS 2 of their armies managed to move out just before the battle took place. With only 11k CS left in the region their armies were wiped from the field. We now have 5k CS of the Perdan's Murderous Wrath army trapped in Krimml.

We would also like to send our condolences to the families who lost loved ones in this battle, and any before it. It is the sacrifice of their lives that keep Fontan a free democracy.

Song: Our Finest Hour
By, Armstrong Ironsides
OOC: (Sung to the tune of "When Johnny Comes Marching Home Again.") (You'll know it when you read it)

Our men go marching unit by unit

Hurrah! Hurrah!

Off to see the Perdanese finished and through

Hurrah! Hurrah!

They’ll slash and kick and bite and stick

But we’ll make sure the enemy is dead like a brick

When the Fontanese army fights like the rolling thunder.

The Caligulans will jump up and down

Hurrah! Hurrah!

They’ll think they’re being bitten to bits

Hurrah! Hurrah!

Our archers will laugh and keep on firing

As the Caligulans bend and take it smiling

When the Fontanese army fights like the rolling thunder.

The Elves will fall one by one

Hurrah! Hurrah!

As easy as pushing a child down

Hurrah! Hurrah!

We’ll stomp on their faces and kick their backs

Then make sure their buried underneath many stacks

When the Fontanese army fights like the rolling thunder.

Those Ol’Rancaguans know not where we strike

Hurrah! Hurrah!

Their Generals are blinder than three mice

Hurrah! Hurrah!

They’ll be over soon and we can cheer

So one of these days you’ll buy me a beer

When the Fontanese army fights like the rolling thunder.

Beware the Confederate scum below

Hurrah! Hurrah!

They’ll tell you their friends and stab you two

Hurrah! Hurrah!

But we got something that they ain’t got

Its integrity and democracy and that’s a lot

When the Fontanese army fights like the rolling thunder.

When the Fontanese army fights like the rolling thunder!

Summary of What Happened While We Were Gone
By, Alise Athins
After the exile of Duke Alexi occurred The Krimml Incident, which can be read about on the attached pamphlet. Following the Krimml Incident, Lord The Revenger was elected Chancellor. When he was imprisoned a week later I was elected to the seat. At this point; Perdan had taken Westmoor and most of it's duchy, Caligus had taken Akesh Temple and either already had, or was in the process of taking Sordidus and Tokat, the Confederacy had taken An Najaf which got traded back and forth for awhile, and Sirion had sent Ashforth rogue. We managed to stop them there for awhile, with a few regions going back and forth.

July came and Lord Revenger was elected back into office in a race that saw 4 nobles (The Revenger, myself, Mikhal, and Tal) end up with a fair amount of votes. After a few day Lord Revenger was once again imprisoned and I was once again elected to take his place. The stale mate in the war kept up, but we managed to retake Ashforth and Duke Elberan along with a team of bureaucrats did a fine job rebuilding the city. Near the end of the month our enemies made a surge, Perdan taking Bruck, CoF taking Viseu, and Perdan making their way into Krimml to loot it some. Though thanks to Lord Andrew, we gained Akesh Temple briefly. I was wounded, and Lord Mikhail took my place as Chancellor. He was voted in un-opposed a day or so later when the regular elections took place. Lady Moria was also voted into place as Supreme Justice.

These two months saw Fontan lose 3 great nobles. First, Duchess Jai was killed as a hero in battle in Negev I believe (someone please correct me if I am wrong. Then Lord Lorrie Furrion was killed in a duel of honor to the death with Cartor the Arch Priest of Caligus. Last but certainly not least, we lost Duchess Amelia when she was killed as a hero in battle in Hagley.

Also of note are the new dukes in Fontan. Duke Niles was granted his position of Duke of Karbala when Lord Revenger vacated it by being elected Chancellor. Duke Elberan was re-appointed to his position as Duke of Ashforth when we brought it back under our control. Lord Andrew briefly held the title of Duke of Akesh Temple, when he lead an uprising of Flow and Balance followers to take its control away from Caligus. It was quickly re-TOed, unfortunately. Lastly Duke Richard was voted into his position as Duke of Krimml after the death of Duchess Amelia.

Also of note is the creation of two new armies. The Fontan Rangers was originally created by Lord Lorrie Furion, then recreated by Lord Richard. Also the Flow Administrators was created by Duke Elberan as an army of bureaucrats.

*EDIT* It appears Duchess Jai was killed in battle in Negev not Viseu.

Drama in the South
By, Alise Athins
It seems the peace between Ibladesh and Itorunt is wearing thin. For those who don't remember, these once great allies broke apart the Southern Alliance and went to war with each other. Perdan supported Itorunt and Ibladesh allied with the recently formed Tuchanon V. The war ended badly for our now ally, Ibladesh, and a peace was signed. Itorunt continued their fight with Tuchanon V, which is still going on as we speak.

Things are heating up again now. From what we gather, the duke of Al Arab became ill. A new duke was appointed and the lord of Oc Lu Pesh disliked the appointment and brought his region to Itorunt. A bit of a flare-up ensued between armies from both realms in the said region. Currently, heated exchanges are going back and forth between the two sides with Itorunt claiming Ibladesh has not upheld their parts of the treaty where it pertains to handing over regions. It also seems that Itorunt was upset by the fact that Ibladesh had merchants in the region of Leibo (an Ibladesh controlled region), due to the fact that it borders the Tuchanon V capital and their last remaining region of Isadril. Itorunt thought Ibladesh was helping feed the city, while Ibladesh claims the merchants we bringing in food to feed their own capital city of Ibladesh.

Also of note is that Itorunt has lowered relations with Ibladesh to neutral. Lastly, it is unclear that if war broke out whether Perdan will join in the fighting as was the case in the previous war.

SoA at War with OI
By, Alise Athins
While we were away OI moved into Sultanate lands, violating their treaty. The SoA later declared war on OI.
