Borvin travelled the lands far and wide, not caring much for boarders. He loved hunting for ambominations that plagued the land but many times over, he meet monsters that he couldn't defeat. That is when another such chance occured, a group of monsters was starting to trouble people of Sordidus. Borvin went into their lair slaing few on his way. There he meet with another one of those that all adventurers reffered to as alpha monster. He sent his minions agains Borvin, but they were quickly disposed off. Their defeat however tired Borvin and the alpha has moved against him, a long and exhaustive battle began. Borvin used his greatswords length to his advantage and keep the monster at a distance allt he time, not letting him use his deadly claws or fangs. At one moment he almost tripped and the alpha saw his chance there. He jumped on Borvin punching his greatsword aside. Borvin unsheathed his dagger and began a figth in a close distance. Previous wounds he inflicted on the beast have made their job. He already lost some blood and wasn't as strong as he could've been. Borvin used all his strength to break monsters grapple and used his dagger to stab him in the face. A raging roar was hear as the alpha monster fell to his backwith a dagger stuck in his eye.
A stroke of luck was bestoved on Borvin that day as he was able to keep his life. Later when he patched and cleared his wounds with hot iron he wen further into the lair to search for remaining monster or young ones to dispose of. Further in the lair he found some kind of altar. On it was a buckler with unknown signs written all over, Borvin looked around if there was no other monster left around to sprise him with an attack, and as he looked back signs on the buckler started changing. They stoped after awhile but there was something else now on the buckler. That was the moment Borvin realized that it wasn't a normal item and that in his possesion now was something unique and valuable.
