Talk:Region Command
This doesn't remotely count even as a place-holder - I began it a few minutes ago and then realised I have to go out right now, but just wanted to save what I had started. I'll get back to it in the morning. Note to self - find out about the possibility of the region types information being added to the main region page. --Arithon 15 August 2005 00:22 (CEST)
- It's a good start. It goes into too much depth for holding court, though -- a link to court should suffice. I had actually just started something similar; I'll add it in and combine the two. --John 15 August 2005 00:24 (CEST)
- well, going out proved to be slightly short-lived, but I'm going to bed anyway. Just for future reference in case of further updates by people who don't have them, here's the list of duke commands:
- Return lordship hand back your region.
- Close the city gates and prepare for a siege.
- Upgrade Fortifications
- Repair Fortifications
- Disband militia - get rid of some guards.
- Your knights..., inspect them and their troops and decide which of your knights to dispatch to the army.
- Appoint army leader... - decide who leads your duchy into battle.
- Recruit Troops to defend the city
- Declare a Holiday. All shops will be closed tomorrow, but people will enjoy the free day.
- Announce Festival to raise morale in the city and surrounding regions (will cost 16 gold).
- Hold Court... - show the people the justice of their lord.
- Build Economy... - manage recruitment centers, workshops, guilds and temples.
- Draft Recruits... - speed up the training in your recruitment centers.
- Warehouse... - check the local warehouse.
- Trade Settings... - review and change the realm-wide trading orders.
- Trade Announcement... - send news about your prices to all traders.
- Allegiance - You are a duke, you can not declare allegiance to another duchy.
- Bestow title - no regions without lord within your duchy.
- Secede - the capital of a realm can not secede.--Arithon 15 August 2005 01:19 (CEST)
Holiday and Festivals
Could someone tell me the difference, game mechanics-wise, between a holiday and a festival? Nowhere does it explain this, and if we don't know what it does, then we don't know when and why to use it, and we can't roleplay around them well since we aren't doing them because we don't know what they do. -Chénier 17:31, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- From the Command page:
- Declare a Holiday. All shops will be closed tomorrow, but people will enjoy the free day.
- Announce Festival to raise morale in the city and surrounding regions (will cost 33 gold).
- From what I have seen, the holiday is free, and gives a small morale bonus to the city. Festivals cost money, but have a bigger bonus, and affect surrounding regions. --Indirik (talk), Editor (talk) 19:55, 3 February 2010 (UTC)
- One's free and the other isn't, that part was fairly obvious, but I've heard that one (or both) of them reduce control, as an investment does? What are their effects on loyalty, production? How much is morale affected? Does surrounding regions only affect your realm's regions, or others too? -Chénier 13:05, 4 February 2010 (UTC)

Something I ever realized is Why a Lord can't move the familyhouse to the mansion he is living. He is a Lord, he sould desire to have his/her family together with him. Perhaps take this from heroes and ellect as a lord right would be better.
