Death and Attack

My deepest condolences to the Kimura family. May your trip to Eston guide you to your righteous path. In regards to your recent article, "Just like their news reporters can trash talk and not even participate in the fight (not that I'm saying any names, Crescent)", Crescent did battle hard in the RedSpan-Darkan war. I fought by his side and his cavalry caused a great roar as my men worked on the walls of Stargard. --Jezralhm 10:21, 5 February 2007 (CET)

Clarified the statements. He was without a unit during the Sullenport fight, which is when he did most of his trash talking. - Fade 2:42, 6 February 2007 (EST)

Apollogy, Advice, Clarification... And Firefox?!

Ok, damn, if I knew it was gonna cause this much trouble, I wouldn't have said a damn thing. Plus, like I stated before, this why I kept in on the BEHIND THE SCENES page.. you know, the discussion page. Not on the paper. Etc. Etc. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, really. I figured people would take it like they usually do, and just move on. Believe it or not, English is NOT my native tongue either (I was raised speaking German). However, granted, I have been speaking primarily English for years now (and my German is now lacking). I understand the language barrier, I really do (well, not so much anymore... but still). Growing up speaking English with a German accent... yeah, not fun, you're immediately a "nazi" to just about anyone you meet. So believe me when I say I wasn't really trying to hurt YOU. I wasn't attacking you, despite how it may have appeared, and actually had no idea it wasn't your native tongue at the time... I assumed you were just being a lazy-ass like most people on the net. So, I am sorry. Now this is officially dropped and overwith. Now, for a possibly helpful suggestion, what browser do you use? The almighty Firefox (free, of course) has a built in spell-checker which works wonders (when I remember to turn it on). Not saying you're impossible to understand, and you don't have to change at all, but if you'd really like to improve, that's a good place to start. I truly meant no real offense, I like to joke around and often let my jokes go a bit too far. I didn't know right away that English was not your native language, and like I said, I assumed you were like 98% of the internet and just lazy, using terrible grammar and shorthand. Truly, we all could have handled it better, not that it shifts any blame. I admittedly hadn't looked at the user details, and when she replied to my first jab again IC, and made no mention of her language barrier, I just continued with it. Anyway, again, I'm sorry for offense. =/ And for the future, it's best to explain things to me slowly (I'm a bit thick-headed), then to immediately start getting in my face about it. Just explain the problem in a calm manner to me, and I'll do my best to rectify my mistakes. =/ I'm not really that much of a jerk (usually). (all of the above was OOC). - Benjamin Boerner (Fade)

OOC:ja ja ja one way zen zi other.Forget it ,i already did :) Evi

OOC: Thank you my friend. This makes me happy. I'm sorry if I also got bent outta shape, I too have a thick head. Thank you for making the effort to make peace. Seriously... Peace. Brian.

Hiring

Query as to hiring other staff. Wouldn't hiring foreign (ie. non-RedSpan) journalists take this paper from classification of RedSpan press? Also, unless another writer's name is Benny, this wouldn't really be all told by Benny! Not critiquing, just thought this warranted some comment. --Jezralhm 10:17, 17 February 2007 (CET)

Yes, and yes. This paper would effectively end, and a new "international" one, with a better name mind you, started up. This started out as a minor project, and has been moderately succesful, so it's on to newer and better things. - Fade
An intercontinetal newspaper? This sounds interesting. Although I'm still writing for the Tara Times I may be interested in helping out with an intercontiental newspaper as well.--Rojo 18:38, 17 February 2007 (CET)
I would be interested in an international paper too. Don't forget to sign off (OOC: ~~~~)! --Jezralhm 21:10, 17 February 2007 (CET)

Well, since there is apparently some interest, I'll see about starting one up in the near future. Any suggestions for a new name? - Fade 12:24, 18 February 2007 (EST)

Just throwing stuff out there off the top of my head: the Atamaran Advocate, or Atamara's Voice. --Rojo 18:31, 18 February 2007 (CET)
How about instead of changing this paper, why dont you start a completely new one? So instead of getting rid of this paper (unless Benny really wants to), just start a new international one up. ScottSabin 19:53, 18 February 2007 (CET)
Agree with Tony up there. And how about we associate ourselves with the international group, the Atamaran Writers Association (ie. reporters become a member of the guild - OOC: so we can IG/RP talk without reverting to wiki). I also believe we should seek at least one delegate or writer from each realm. --Jezralhm 21:03, 18 February 2007 (CET)
What about the old Atamara Times? Elenar 21:11, 18 February 2007 (CET)
The Atamara Times is old, and it's not very flashy, plus it's someone else's work. I think we should let some of the current newspaper editors design a new paper. The idea that the Atamaran Writers Association be used as an organization tool would be a good idea except for the fact that the guild houses are positioned up way up north in Darka. The only reason I got to be a member was because I was a trader and I made a conscious effort to go up to Azzal and join.--Rojo 04:43, 19 February 2007 (CET)
Yes, it would be quite the pilgrimage to make. Perhaps a generous lord from southern/eastern Atamara may find him or herself building a guild house within the next few days ;)? To be honest, I haven't joined AWA, although I intend to as soon as I find my path to a desk. --Jezralhm 06:38, 19 February 2007 (CET)

Sadly AWA is indeed a bit limited to Darka, though there is a guildhouse in Meneriel too. The guild is pretty much dead as it is -- mostly because I don't have the time/interest to keep it going anymore -- and I've been looking for someone to take control of most of the day-to-day things(collecting writings etc.). If you want to make use of it, go ahead - LilWolf 11:46, 19 February 2007 (CET)

Theres a guild in Meldeen thats like the AWA, its called the Atamaran Storytellers. If you guys had a thougth about this idea a couple of weeks ago, then you could have all joined the guild :D
If you want you can message me (Tony) with anything you need to say to Benny (or who ever), and visa versa. Once someone has messaged me then i can reply to them, with what ever needs be. It will work as a tempory stand in until soemthign else is found. ScottSabin 11:58, 19 February 2007 (CET)
(OOC: I LOLd) Well it was Benny's idea, so blame him! I suppose using the Talk pages will suffice, just that those who check recent changes might get a great deal of messages (read: SPAM). --Jezralhm 12:43, 19 February 2007 (CET)
I believe you, Benny, should establish (OOC: create wiki page) the new paper, label yourself the founder. It was your idea. The problem is deciding on a name. I like "Atamaran Advocate". In addition, I would be more than happy to be a journalist/editor from Darka. --Jezralhm 10:21, 21 February 2007 (CET)
I'd also be more than willing to be the journalist/editor of Tara. I've offered my compatriots the opportunity but none of them have showed interest.--Rojo 04:32, 22 February 2007 (CET)
(OOC: When this -> Atamaran Advocate turns blue, we'll be in business. =) --Jezralhm 08:43, 23 February 2007 (CET)
OOC: Dabug would offer to join, but I think he's a bit too pro-RedSpan to work on an international paper. --Habap 15:43, 23 February 2007 (CET)
The Atamaran Advocate it is. I'll work on establishing it sometime over the weekend (OOC: Damn... Paper... Due... Stupid... School). --Fade 02:20, 23 February 2007 (EST)

If you're still hiring, I'd like to apply. If you need a sample of my work, check out the Eston Tribune. - Francisco Pizarro 22:19, 23 February 2007 (CET)

Elenar would like to apply as well and he does not have too great a problem with impartial journalism. Elenar 22:33, 23 February 2007 (CET)

--Jezralhm 10:48, 24 February 2007 (CET)
Started designing for the paper, need consensus as to what color scheme we should emplace. Template:Atamaran_Advocate_Main and Template:Atamaran_Advocate_Header. It's just black and white for now. No columns for the writing, maybe need to reduce the size of entry to reflect shorter entries. --Jezralhm 10:30, 25 February 2007 (CET)
I'll be happy to help, Gloria Tribal, Falasan -- Oszro 17:12, 25 February 2007 (GMT)
