Interesting. I suppose this is part of the new hierarchy system? -Pizarro 12:00, 10 February 2007 (CET)

Estate sizes

The large estate is worth 12 points, right? How much are small and medium estate worth? 5 and 7 points?

A lord's estate is 12 points. For normal nobles, I believe estate sizes are 5, 7, and 8. --Indirik 05:27, 30 April 2007 (CEST)
It costs 50 gold to bring your estate from 7 to only 8?? How stupid is that! I thought nobles could get to 12 as well... Van Peteghem 09:32, 30 April 2007 (CEST)
Can you read? It says it right there on the page: "The local lords estate is always the largest, but knight estates can be enlarged in size. A larger estate will be more expensive, but also more efficient. However, there are diminishing returns on investment - two small estates are more effective than one large estate." - there's your answers right there, except for the "stupid" part. --Tom 10:33, 30 April 2007 (CEST)
"The local lords estate is always the largest, but knight estates can be enlarged in size" it says indeed, I can read, but what I read is something I would interpret as "Lords automatically have the largest estate, but knights can have it too if they pay for it and spend time on it." If you want to insult players, Tom, then do it on a right way, get good arguments, and don't humiliate people for questioning the way you explain your features. Van Peteghem 18:52, 30 April 2007 (CEST)
You interpreted it wrong, which is why the 2 small estates worth more than 1 large one is there probably, to prevent such misunderstandings. And I don't think Tom was trying to insult you. --The1exile 19:03, 30 April 2007 (CEST)
Are you sure? Of course, Tom is very skilled in saying things without actually saying them, but I'm used to them, so I would call it insulting, reading between the lines.
And I believe Tom has previously said that if he wanted to say something between the lines he'd write it there. --The1exile 20:14, 30 April 2007 (CEST)
I think this is a lousy idea. Some regions have like 100 gold only, to be shared amongst the militia, lord and two knights. Thats seriously pathetic.
Nobody said you have to be a lord or knight of those poor regions. Battlemaster is a big world, and you're quite free to have your characters go elsewhere. Now, there have always been wild untamed places on the earth, and there are poor areas with extremely scarce resources... it's perfectly realistic to have such places in the game as well. I think it adds an interesting twist to have regions that for perhaps a strategic gain, will force realms to pay an economic cost. --Murakama 07:35, 1 June 2007 (CEST)

is an impression or when you change region your estate come with you with same dimension and same setting? that's a good improvement. or is a bug? --Vecchioratto 11:34, 5 June 2008 (CEST)

No, you are not supposed to take your estate with you. However there have been reports of people inheriting larger estates when they switch allegiance. Apparently there is the possibility of getting a prior knight's estate. We don't know if this is intentional or a bug. --Indirik 15:26, 5 June 2008 (CEST)
