Stench in RedSpan

Ah, and a joyous stench it is. Though ye may attempt to cover it with your perfumes and soap, the Goatly stench that it a sign of Da One shall always be with us. The deceitfulness of your former King cannot be washed away with your soap, either. He turned on his closest allies, driving the King of Abington to madness and attempting to kill all of the leaders of RedSpan simply for his own ends. Long will these deeds be remembered and, one day, they shall also be punished. --Dabug Habap 21:27, 5 September 2007 (CEST)

Miraculous job

You call the destruction of RedSpan a miraculous job? Carelians are easily impressed, I must say. I suppose that if you saw five bandits beating up a child, you'd praise them for their amazing courage and prowess? How very, very, VERY sad. -Ceowfyr the Brave Andrasta 21:13, 11 September 2007 (CEST)

I do indeed see it that way, the way the war was waged and the precision of 4 realms was nothing short of miraculous. Abingtons and Redspans Mobile Cs was almost equal to the alliance. Senseless aggression and your mouthy leadership brought your people to these straights, accept it and move on. Oh, and if it was a Redspan child i just might :P Zerric Zorrath

  • For a reporter, you sure are well-informed... I hail from Norland. Excellent research there! Senseless aggression? I recall Carelia being ready to defend RedSpan after AJ stabbed the Darkan banker, and when RedSpan attacked Ash Sea Islands. Equal strength? The Cagilan Empire was only marginally weaker than Abington (if they were weaker to begin with), and Carelia was stronger than RedSpan... I guess Talerium and Tara were just there to hold your hands? You may fool beings of lesser intellect with your drivel, but some of us see right through your propaganda and see Carelia's actions for what they are: acts of opportunist expansionsim, probably linked to cowardice in the face of Cagilan political pressure. But you can't really blame someone who would admire the beating of a child for lacking the spine to stand up against bullies, can you? Enjoy your victory while it lasts, because sooner or later, your actions will catch up and bite you in a place that rarely sees the light of day. -Ceowfyr the Brave Andrasta 22:59, 12 September 2007 (CEST)

It was aggression on the part of Redspan my friend, by them sending a force of RS into Carelian lands to attack our Nobles there. This fact isn't up for debate, we did not enter their lands, nor did our TLS attack them: simple as that. You may not have heard so you are to be forgiven for your mistake. Just as i after being attacked by nothing but Redspan and Abington nobles and having written an article on REDSPAN mistakingly assumed...wait for the leap of logic..the attack was from a noble of Redspan. You may think Carelia was more powerful than Redspan, that was not the case on paper. Caligan political pressure, you know nothing of what you speak. The Mad leader of Abington, had stated his intention already to see Carelia "whiped of the map" his words, not mine. So please before you continue your one sided closed minded argument, learn the facts. Zerric Zorrath

Ceowfyr I find it amusing that you liken Redspan to a child, and also neglect to also add the fact that there father is always with protecting them from bandits whilst also shouting out loudly that any bandits who come along will be killed. Of course, I am referring to the real owner of "Redspans" regions which is the realm of Abington. You say that Carelia was stronger than Redspan, but Redspan's own soldiers deny this (see the discussion about the last edition). I believe that a "child", if attacking you with a sword and cutting off your fingers, deserves a clout around the head and if the "child" continues then they will have to be stopped. Your analogy is completely unaccurate, as Redspan had two mighty cities which allowed them a great army. Abington was more powerful than CE and it was the failings of their own last two rulers whom both made enemies and caused the death of the once mighty and honourable realm of Abington. Do not speak like you will be bringing Norland down to Carelia and smacking us around, as I'm sure your ruler would not want you writing bonds your ass cannot cash.

So speaks Bartho Baraedor, Royal Treasurer of Carelia and Senator of Carelia.

The "incursion" of Carelia was by a few rogue nobles who were severely chastised by the King. They refused to follow orders and did, in fact, attempt to start a war. I do not remember their names, but if you are blaming them for the war that led to the destruction of RedSpan, I will endeavor to find their names. Odd that the presence of nobles who were new to the realm and impossible to control would justify attacks by Tara, Talerium and the Cagilan Empire. I guess RedSpan's army was too large and too well-led for the cowards in Carelia to attempt to avenge the damage caused by a few idiots.
My understanding is that no option for resolving the situation financially or by removal of those idiots was ever considered by Carelia.
I wonder at the banking system of Carelia if donkeys are allowed to cash bonds. When I served as Royal Treasurer in RedSpan, the only animals allowed in the Bank were goats and any fool knows a goat carries no bonds, and, in fact, has no need of money for Da Way encourages all RedSpaniards to share their ale with all who are goatly. --Dabug Habap 16:45, 16 September 2007 (CEST)

RedSpan Players

Are all the players who play in the EX-REALM of RedSpan really annoying? I wrote on the Tara Times talk a bit ago about how its stupid to WHINE about newspapers.

A Newspaper = propoganda machine. Why does it have to give exact events in a non-biased way? Of course a realms newspaper is going to say the enemy are all goat-lickers and their own realm are Gods.

It's not called "The Unbiased Editor" or some boring pants like that. Its a Carelian Newspaper, written by a Carelian, for Carelians who have a sense of humour. IC complaints about a newspaper unless the facts are wrong is silly. Have you not heard of newspapers like "The Sun"? And did you not realise that during the World Wars, the newspapers only printed what the "government (or other suitable person in charge)" wanted you to see?

Somebody works hard on this paper, and spends much time writing it the way they want it to sound. He doesn't go around pointing our things about the Revealer, so leave it be and just read and enjoy it as an IC newspaper. --Crazylozda 00:00, 12 September 2007 (CEST)

  • Seems like the only annoying person here is you. All the articles and comments are made IC. I don't think you can be really surprised that the RedSpan nobles react to anti-RedSpan propaganda. Your comparison to war issues of The Sun is a bit farfetched as well. BM wars are not real wars, just a string of 1s and 0s on a server somewhere in Germany, although some people tend to take it a bit too serious sometimes... If you feel offended by negative comments from RedSpan CHARACTERS as a PLAYER, then obviously you do not understand the social contract, which states that all disputes and insults that are given IC are to be seen as just that, IC. What Dabug (and others) are doing is exactly what you want them to do, they are reading it and 'enjoying' it as an IC newspaper. If you can't handle some IC flak on your articles, then I advise you to stop writing them. Do yourself a favour and read some old issues of the Volcanic Hot Newsletter, in particular the issue on the Darkan raid into RedSpan. A lot of ammo was shot back and forth, yet no player felt the need to complain about it OOC, as they all understood the term "In-Character". And nice touch on the EX-REALM (in all caps, no less). As far as I know, a realm is not destroyed until it's last region is gone. And even then, keep your gloating IN-CHARACTER, please. -Andrasta 00:15, 12 September 2007 (CEST) P.S., I don't have a character in RedSpan either.
Ok, fair enough. I thought it was the players complaining which is why i was OOC about it. But i looked at the tags again and they're character names, so apologies for the insults. My bad :( --Crazylozda 01:00, 12 September 2007 (CEST)
To avoid confusion, I have taken to trying to sign my comments with either the name of the character responding for IC comments or "OOC" for out-of-character comments. Of course Dabug is going to call you a vicious liar and what-not. He writes propaganda from the opposite viewpoint (except when the realms were allied). --OOC Habap 21:11, 12 September 2007 (CEST)
