History

The Family first came into renown with David "the slaad slayer". He lead a small troupe of adventures protecting Massillion and surrounding lands. He was known to have defeated a green slaad singlehandedly, and eventually rose to knighthood.

Unfortunately, the family wealth and prestige was squandered by his son, Reuben. For years the family has been forced to subsist on odd jobs and mercantile. There was no time for politics, and those in power could have cared less about the Nobles living as commoners.

It has been three generations since David established the family line. Fortune has smiled on the family recently. Jordan Slaadslayer was gainfully employed by a local merchant until recently. When the merchant passed away, Jordan was named in his will. Accepting this new found wealth, he committed himself to re-establishing the family's honor and position in the realm.

About the Name

(Much of this section is ooc)

What is a slaad? see Dungeons & Dragons Monster Manual: Core Rulebook III v.3.5 page 228

It is noted that a D&D character of 11 or higher is defined as "legendary" (Dungeons & Dragons Player's Handbook: Core Rulebook I v.3.5 page 246).

A green slaad (CR 9) would be an appropriate challenge for a single character of level 13. In other words, four level 13 characters fighting a CR 13 monster would each receive 975 xp. A single character of level 13 fighting a monster of CR 9 would also receive an xp reward of 975 (Dungeons & Dragons Dungeon Master's Guide: Core Rulebook II v.3.5 page 37-8).
