Lost History
The people of Sirion are not warlike by nature, and do not go out of their way to pick fights. But when war is forced upon them, it falls to the armies of Sirion to defend their homes, and push the aggressors back.
Up until recently, few historic records of battles have been kept, and many old reports have been lost or destroyed. This is a tragic loss of knowledge, and must be stopped.
It is our intention is to change this; to salvage what history we can, and to keep records of future battles so they are not lost as well. It is a dishonor to those who have fallen to forget what they died fighting for. We must learn from our past mistakes, so we do not repeat them.
The Battles
- Ambush in Tabost - June 2008. Sirion forces in Tabost were caught off-guard by a superior Fontanese army, and were slaughtered.
- Capture of Avamar - September 2008. After some unsuccessful attempts, Sirion finally manages to get the city of Avamar by catching Fontan off-guard.
- Battle in Montijo - Jan 2009. Sirion repulses not only a large Fontan army, but also more than 550 peasants. The peasant militia suffers losses and they are soon routed.
- The Defense of Tabost - Jan 15th 2009. After the treaty between Fontan and the southern realms, the war in the north rages on. After a set of skirmishes won by Fontan in Dale and Montijo, the two armies of Sirion gather in Tabost. A fake retreat lures Fontan's army, not at their full strenght, to an attack.
- Battle in Tabost - Feb 12th 2009, Sunset. While the Armies of Sirion were busy returning home after a campaign in Old Rancaguan's land, Fontan tried to conquer the Sirionite region of Tabost. When Sirion's troops were finally ready to strike the occupying force, Tabost was already fallen to our enemies. The battle lasted for an entire day, at sunrise 13/02/2009 another major skirmish took place, with each of the two sides remaining forces bolstered by reinforcements. The Second battle in Tabost decided the sort of the region.
- Battle in Dale - Mar 3rd 2009, Sunrise. After having defeated a small raiding force coming from Westmoore, Sirion's armies attacked Fontan forces in Dale. Too many remained behind, jeopardizing the entire operation.
- The Defense of Trinbar - Mar 26th 2009, Sunset. Fontan's forces after having caputred Dale and Tabost, threatened Avamar. As soon as the Army of Sirion took place on the walls, Fontanese troops quickly changed side and attacked Trinbar. At sunrise a major skirmish took place, won by Fontan. That gave them the opportunity to destroy the fortification leaving only a palisade. At sunset, the core both armies arrived giving battle for the control of the Townsland.
- The two bloody days of Sermbar - Apr 11th 2009, Sunrise. A portion of Fontan's forces, while performing a takeover of Tabost, attacked Sermbar. Sirion armies were deployed between Sermbar and Trinbar, and, thanks to the lenght of the road connecting Sermbar and Tabost, readied a defense. The battle was inconclusive and it quickly escalated by addition of large amounts of reinforcements, from both sides. Four battles were fought during two entire days, devastating the region and leaving more than 4 thousands bodies on the ground. A good amount of troops from Westmoor took Fontan's side in the battle.
- The legendary battle of Sermbar - Aug 8th 2009, Sunset. Fontan, Westmoor, Perdan and the Sultanate of Asena rallied for days in Dale, forming an enormous army of more than 40k cs. Meanwhile Sirion gathered almost its whole realm in Sermbar, ready to defend its land. After some days of waiting, the attack came on Sunset of the 11th August, but many attackers remained behind, and the four realms arrived in Sermbar outnumbered, suffering a bad defeat. This was the first battle in which Perdan sided with Fontan and its allied.
- The Day the Sirion River Ran Red - Oct 28th 2009, Sunrise. Fontan and Westmoor forces had been amassing in the region of Commonyr for almost a week, and an invasion into the Sirion region of Tabost was expected at any moment. At the dawn of light that day a massive invading force assaulted the Sirion elves and humans. It was bloody, and the Sirion river ran red, but the defenders prevailed! Though it should have been a joyous day, the Sirion hero Hortar Lurdigala was killed in the field of battle while leading a cavalry charge.
- Feast of Crows - Oct 28th 2009, Sunset. Both sides rally, and go at it again. Crows from miles around await in anticipation! Then, unexpectedly, undead and monsters join the fray, attracted by the huge battle of that morning. Only the timely intervention of the Red Dragon army and the Glinmar Light Raiders helps the beleaguered Sirion forces attain victory.
- Raiding of Al Amarah - Nov 5-8th 2009. A small force of Sirion forces maneuver unnoticed around the long line of enemy forces to the North, and make their way into undefended Fontan regions. They loot for several days, before returning home successfully, laden down with huge bags of stolen Fontanese tax gold.
- Skirmish in Sermbar - Dec 4th 2010, Sunset. A small skirmish versus Fontan occurring in Sermbar showing how important it can be for Archer units to hire units trained in longbows with maximum range.
- In mid-January of 2011 advisers from other continents arrived and introduced new and improved ways to conduct warfare. This knowledge soon spread throughout all the realms.
- Sacking of Karbala - Jan 27th, 2011. Taking Fontan completely by surprise, what seemed at first to just be a looting of the Al Amarah region suddenly turned into an unexpected attack on the city of Karbala.
- Assault of Fontan City - Feb 10th, 2011. Soon after Karbala was successfully taken over and firmly in Sirion's control, our forces moved further westward and successfully attacked the city of Fontan.
- Siege of Oroya - Oct 13th, 2011. After winning the siege of Kazakh, Sirion besieged Oroya for the second time. The attack went well and SoA lost her last city to Sirion.
- Battle of Bruck - June 5th, 2012, Sirion marched into Westmoor through Oberndorf which surprised Westmoor a great deal, forcing them to fight an unprepared battle.
- Epic Battle of Oberndorf - March 6th, 2013, Perdan, Westmoor, and Armonia attacked Sirion and Nivemus in Oberndorf which led to the biggest battle in history.
