All know the Gods meddle in the lives of men, both great and small. Capricious and cruel, or Just and kind it matters not for most. Their fates are not their own. And so the story of Xlair Silverblade may have unfolded; sacrificed by his father to be a pawn of the Crystal Maiden the young man was marked as doomed by the terrible Armor of Arshava that cut and bled the man in eternal agony. But when great men are beset by the Gods they have options, they may be pawns. ~ But even pawns can cross the board.

Xlair Silverblade died so the Eternal Emperor might stands among the Gods. He remains a champion of that cursed torturer, shackled yet though not for long. The Eternal Emperor understands the importance of balance in all things. The Crystal Maiden seeks to consume all, to dethrone the other Gods and bring her Hierarchy of the Abyss to the world. This cannot come to pass. But so too must the Gods not cast down the Crystal Maiden for without her they will become idle and weak, prey for the Dragons.

In the quest to achieve balance in all things blood must be shed.

There will be suffering by some but the Eternal Emperor will shoulder that burden. He will show the way. The sworn of the faith affectionately cite the actions of the Bloody Prince, referring to the mortal form that was once known as Xlair Silverblade. Founded in the mountains of Iknopata by Prophet Godfrey Greybrook, he leads the priests of Vordulism. All the faithful work for one cause, the unification of the continent under the one true faith. They say this will provide the strength the Eternal Emperor needs to finally slay the Crystal Maiden.

The obstacles that stand in the sworn's way are not only the forces of the Maiden but the other human faiths that preach falsehood and deny humanity unity against the true enemy. The Daishi are vast and dominant, yet weak in their pantheon to the deities of death to prevent their own. The evil Heralds of Obeah worship a deity that brings destruction and mysterious rituals that bring closer the end of days. The Cult of Mordok, now a shadow of what it was, could of been an ally as a misguided force, now left to obscurity.

Humanity must unify and suffer together, or we all face damnation.

The shackled champion of balance, the Bloody Prince seeks to break the grip of the Crystal Maiden and unseat the Dark Mistress as the arbiter of the dead. Through the remains of his once mortal form he instructs his acolytes with care, calling upon them to bring order to the chaotic, war to peace, wildness to cities and day to night.

Beliefs in regards to the Old Gods

Once the Crystal Maiden did spin lies to her pawn, claiming the other Old Gods to be vipers and demons. So Xlair Silverblade was deceived and so too were his people. But as the Bloody Prince rose to the heavens he gained knowledge. Knowledge of the corruption, of the lies, of the inbalance. Thus he has realized that the Crystal Maiden is the true demon of the the divines and whispers such truths to his acolytes.

Now the Bloody Prince seeks to break free of the fetters chaining him to the Crystal Maiden and usurp the power of the Dark Mistress for his own. For the Bloody Prince has seen that the Lady of Death is too kind, while the Soul Crusher is too cruel. Thus he will be the true arbiter of the dead, just and fair in all things.

The Eternal Emperor

Xlair Silverblade.jpg

Xlair Silverblade stood 7'2" tall, with a slender but muscular frame. His skin was a pale alabaster and stretched taught over high cheekbones, a firm square jaw, and a narrow nose. His eyes are black, and the fury within them makes them resemble burning coals that lock on anything he finds worth his attention. He wore his long thick raven black hair down, where it reaches to the middle of his back.

His body was covered from the neck down with jagged black steel armor. The armor, called the Armor of Arshava, is a torture device that causes the metal blades and screws to consistently twist and move, shredding the flesh beneath and causing blood to run between the crevices of the armor. Xlair Silverblade had worn this armor since any have known him, and know that he has tamed the armor by sating it with the blood of his enemies.

For his bloodletting, he wielded two Nodachi inspired Silver Blades, which are razor sharp and 6' long, and sheathed across his back in an "X". Often, he wore the tattered heavy black robes to conceal the horror of his armor from those around him.

As the Emperor of the Vordul Sanguinis, he resided in the Cursed City of Wudenkin. He refused to see any other than those that have obtained the rank of Acolyte. The Crimson Veil were allowed to be within range to uphold their vow of protection, but are not allowed to address him.

Due to the curse of his armor, Xlair was generally either bathing in blood, or on the battlefield to shed blood himself.
