Introduction

The tribes of the North, mostly occupied by the realm Nivemus, have an extensive and flavorful history to them.

These are the histories of the tribes of Nivemus, uncovered by the nobles of Nivemus.

The Haradrim

The Haradrim is the oldest(approximately 7 centuries old) and third largest tribe of the North. Dark-skinned, harsh, and war-like, the tribe is entrenched in tradition and resides in the regions of Pedrera and Caqueta. In fact, the Haradrim tribe has lived and died in the badlands for so long that even the meaning of 'Haradrim' has long been forgotten. The influence of the Haradrim tribe's traditions stretches far across the borders of Pedrera and Caqueta, as numerous wars with the Desertulo have left the Haradrim mark in Csopa and Northern Obando.

The tribespeople of the badlands, the Haradrim, tend to wear leather vests with loose fitting trousers of linen. Tough leather boots are prized due to the harsh terrain where they live. While they tend to either shave their head or wear their hair short, the Haradrim are known for their extensive piercings and facial war tattoos made up of blue and red berries found locally.

The nomads of the badlands do not subsist on agriculture. Most of their nutritional intake comes from their goat herds that they tend and local vegetables and fruits that they forage. Haradrim food is well known for it's vast array of spices that they find randomly in their travels, the variety is so vast from their foraging it is said that no two Haradrim dishes are alike.

The Desertulo

Directly South of the Haradrim is the second-oldest tribe(approximately 6 centuries old) and the smallest of the tribes, the Desertulo, which means 'the desert people'. This tribes influence and population is almost entirely confined within the borders of Obando, however the influence sometimes spills over into Dale and Csopa in the South and East. The smallest and least prosperous of the tribes of the North, the Desertulo tend to keep to themselves and the little that they have. This behavior is probably a result of all the wars that have ravaged the lands of the Desertulo, as Obando has always been a prime target for battles of realms and tribes alike.

The reclusive Desertulo people tend to have a very conservative style of clothing. Due to their environment, both men and women tend to cover themselves head to toes in sand-colored linen or silk abayas. Beneath that they tend to wear tight fitting linens and a pair of sandals.

Being around so long, the Desertulo have grown accustomed to the staple corn crop on which they primarily subsist on. Most of their food tends to be rather plain and unoriginal. Desert bird eggs are highly valued and eaten as a delicacy alongside their famous cactus wine, if you're lucky there won't be any thorns in it too!

The Litustrum

West of the Desertulo is the youngest and biggest of the tribes(approximately 3-4 centuries old): the Litustrum, which means 'Of the Southern Beaches'. The Litustrum are an easy going people that have fluctuated in size and wealth over the past few centuries. At the largest, the Litustrum occupied the entire region of Salta, the eastern tip of Gadlock and the Southernmost beaches of Juazeiro and was the second richest tribe of them all. The light-skinned Litustrum tribe has always been a rival of it's slightly more prosperous northern neighbor, the Posperulo.

The tribespeople of the southern beaches tend to wear an assortment of tunics and loose trousers that are often dyed in pastel oceanic colors. They often use feathers, shells, and coral to decorate their hair and clothing.

The fact their most of their settlements are near the ocean leaves little to the imagination of the majority of the diet of the Litustrum are. Fish, fresh vegetables and more fish. A hearty and thick seafood stew if one of the staples of Litustrum fare.

The Posperulo

North of the Litustrum tribe is the Posperulo tribe, the most prosperous and second biggest tribe. The third oldest tribe(approximately 5-6 centuries old), the Posperulo have enjoyed much wealth in its history as a tribe. The Posperulo tribe occupies Juazeiro and Southern Pucallpa and is the rival of the Litustrum tribe, which many Posperulo historians consider just an offshoot of the Posperulo tribe.

Unlike their rivals to the south, the Posperulo tribespeople tend to stick with more earthy tones to their clothes. Their clothes also tend to be a mixture of the other various tribes and realms, a result of their wide trading routes throughout the region. Their hair tends to follow that of more noble customs and design, but with a mixture of shells and coral that seems to be a mainstay in that region.

Their diet, like their clothing, tends to be varied and includes foods from all over. However, they tend towards more richer and sauce-based meals. Beers and wines are drunken in great abundance beside their food and also within it.

The Omsk

The second youngest tribe(approximately 4-5 centuries old) and second smallest tribe, The Omsk is often called the 'Melting Pot' tribe for it's combination of traditions that have come from the older tribes. Although some consider it an actual tribe and others just peasants that have been influenced by the other tribes over the centuries, the effect is clearly seen. It should be noted, however, that the Omsk has very little communication with the other four tribes currently, both because the other four are owned by Nivemus and not Obsidian Islands and because of the water barrier that is the Omsk Bay.

Due to their locals in a very swampy location, most Omsk tribespeople wear heavy snake or crocodile leathers. Tunics, leggings, and boots. They tend to put their hair into dreadlocks or other braiding techniques.

Their diet consists of numerous plants and tubers found within the swamps. They also eat the crocodiles and snakes that inhabit the land. Snake kebabs with bog potatoes are a local favorite.
