White City Herald Launched! 24 September 1011
What you may ask is a White City Herald? Well let us inform you. The White City Herald is the new newspaper for Ibladesh which has just been launched in the south today. May Ramsus guide you, may Sartan protect you, may Kokini smile upon you and may Tersea lend you wisdom being their motto. Slightly more of a mouthful than our For the cause of memories and friendship.
The Newspaper launches today with several articles with inside information on the various recent battles/events and is the first to admit that Ibladesh is going through trying times what with the recent breach of Semall. Certain events such as King Dobromir’s capture and release and also a change of duke are listed here so well worth a look for anyone trying to learn more about the hearts and minds of the theocracy of Ibladesh. WCH is a welcome addition to the already sparse landscape of Realm Newspapers and we hope to see many more issues in the future.

Returned Regions 22 September 1011
Over the last few days Fontan took back Commonyr while we stopped the takeover of Dulbin. There was of course no way that they could have accomplished this without support from Sirion. It has now regretfully been at least provisionally agreed that we will also hand back Oberndorf to them, at least this is the general consensus of the house.
It was revealed to us by the Sirion Prime minister (thanks to Ambassador Jor) that Fontan are still asking for Greatbridge in compensation for the holding of Krimml although Sirion has not agreed to support Fontan in this and made clear that they would not be allowing Fontan to expand into Westmoor as per terms of peace. There would be of course no way we would ever agree to such demands and it is likely we’d fight to the last man over such a claim. Sirion has offered to guarantee a peace between us which to be honest is all we ever wanted in the first place. Hopefully Fontan will agree to this and bring an end to this pointless war.
Other news
To the West Kazakh has been pretty much levelled and today Kazan was taken over by the Obsidian islands. As you can imagine the Sultanate was very much hoping we would fight Sirion and sent us some pleas to that effect but the house has no intention of doing so for obvious reasons. In the South Ibladesh won a decisive battle against Caligus in Betholm. That does make a change of news! Congratulations to them. We wait anticipating to see what if anything this leads to.

Negotiations 17 September 1011
The last week has been a very difficult week for Westmoor and sorry we missed out on a lot of that. In a nutshell here’s what’s been going on. Sirion invaded Oberndorf and of course won the battle with their massive army. A number of the Sirion soldiers sent messages to the region promising to wipe Westmoor off the face of the map which of course wasn’t highly looked upon by us to say the least and doesn’t help the Sirion Council’s image of trying to be a ‘peace keeper’. In the meantime Fontan has been taking advantage of the situation (of course) and has started take overs of Commonyr and Dulbin.
We have begun talks with Sirion over a peace offering. Fierce debating in the House of Lords resulted in Thomas Foxglove’s promotion to Lord General of the realm while Arica Maldives was wounded. She has now recovered yet the king has not reappointed her presumably due to the mass complaining of the decision to invade Krimml although he has not said as much in writing. We’ve recruited a counter army and are now preparing for our next moves.

Sirion Desires World Domination 7 September 1011
As you can see in the regional news the Sirion Empire has declared war on Westmoor for nothing more than defending our right to exist. They choose their reason as being that we attempted to breach the walls of Krimml and failed. We didn’t even want the city we just wanted to destroy Fontan’s recruitment centres to stop them attacking us further. When has it become the case on East Continent that Sirion has the right to interfere with any country it chooses and tell others what to do?
In the war with Fontan (which Fontan started) Sirion made no effort to stop Fontan attacking Westmoor which it did continually throughout the last three months. All they did was threaten Westmoor with war at every corner. Fontan of course received no such threats when it invaded Westmoor in fact Sirion seemed openly to encourage such actions. Obviously it must be clear to the entire continent now what is going on. Sirion was just biding its time so it could destroy the Sultanate and now it wants Westmoor. When they are finished with Westmoor they will probably turn on the next weakest opponent the Obsidian islands and then on Caligus or Perdan. There is no stopping Sirion all they desire is to cover the continent with the red banner and flush out human kind.
We call on all nations of the East continent to understand the prime minister of Sirion's letter for what it really is. A lame excuse for war which is simply a case of a larger nation trying to impose its will on a smaller one. If they had not declared war today they would have made some excuse later on and be sure that if Westmoor were to fall it would not stop there. For the sake of honour we call on all nations of the continent to pull together and oppose Sirion in what is surely one of the most dishonourable declarations of war that has thus come to pass. The declaration of war that Sirion made will be published shortly on the letters page.

Defeated in Krimml! 6 September 1011
In what was a very confrontational move the Westmoorian Collumn attacked Krimml this morning. We had been given quite specific line settings for this battle but unfortunately a number of our nobles were following old line settings which resulted in a large number of our forces being deployed in the wrong place. It is unlikely this would have changed the outcome of the battle but it would certainly have helped. What resulted was an early infantry charge while arrows were exchanged on both sides. It was this first charge which cost the army at least one hundred casualties in the first few minutes alone.
By the time I and the other members of the WC arrived at the walls the first wave had been almost completely wiped out trying to climb those ladders. There were in fact only two of the original four nobles left still fighting. My Captain Theoderic’s first words were as he looked up at the castle walls, “Plucking bells, there’s rather a lot of them?”.
Indeed it seems that seemingly overnight Fontan had raised an extra three thousand combat strength to defend the walls. This battle in no time at all started to turn very nasty with men falling left right and centre. Soon after the king was wounded along with myself and the Marshal. It was not necessary for a retreat to be ordered as we all knew what to do.
General Arica and her archers continued firing away but of course soon the gate came down and the forces inside charged. Almost half of Arica’s archers were wiped out in this massacre and she was captured by WhiteRanger.
...Apparently its all our fault?
Minister Rhidhana Dubhaine was quick to proclaim victory sending a letter to all of the remaining WC left alive in Krimml forest in which she proclaimed that apparently the war is completely our fault due to us not apologizing for holding Krimml and a number of other accusations at Duke Gregor which you can see for yourself on the letters page. She also vowed to return Commonyr and Oberndorf to Fontan no matter what the cost of life to those living in the regions.
Amusingly enough what the minister of defence failed to mention is the almost three month period in which we took no offensive action against Fontan to allow it to work out a peace while they continued to attack us at every opportunity with Saboteurs and invasions. They had Krimml back in their possession yet it was they who continued the war not us. Fontan had plenty of time to prevent the takeovers of Commonyr and Oberdorf in fact we even gave them back Commonyr at one point to allow them to continue to negotiate. This letter is truly as hollow in content as the rest of the Fontanese government’s heads; claiming that the whole reason for the continuation of this war rests on us not apologising? There we’re very very sorry with a cherry on top for holding Krimml. Now perhaps it’s time Fontan owned up to some of the ridiculous farces they’ve been pulling over the last three months. If they’d really wanted peace they could have had it on multiple opportunities.
I hope that all of this paper's readers are able to see the gaping holes in how they lamely try to justify continuing the war.

Fontan continues to fight 5 September 1011
And again Fontan attacks us even though there is absolutely no reason for them to continue this pointless war. They are already two regions down and yet they still refuse to yield in a war which should never have been started in the first place. The Fontanese spread their forces out in attacks on Greatbridge and Dulbin yesterday and today with looting taking place. The response of their new Chancellor has been yet more of the stalling tactics that we have come to expect from the realm of Fontan. The response this time being: wait until my reelection. How many elections does it take for Fontan to decide who is in charge of their realm? We needed one in Westmoor and that was over three months ago.
The Westmoorian Collumn took back control of Greatbridge with a minor battle with the former chancellor of Fontan Basilius and Guis'wa who were probably supposed to follow orders to move to Dulbin but for whatever reason didn't. The rest of the Fontanese army is now in Dulbin but not for long.

Happy Independence Day! 1 September 1011
Today Westmoor is alive and well celebrating its third year of independence. It was on this day in the year 1008 that Queen Evangeline ceded the duchy of Westmoor to become a new realm with the same name as that of Westmoor City. Three is a number that’s particularly special as it’s also the third month that this publication has been going for (beating the previous Westmoor newspaper record of 5 days.) Westmoor undoubtedly has become a realm in its own right with its own identity especially if you consider that the world as we know it has only existed for ten years.
The Crest you see to the right was designed by the late Queen Evangeline. Of course nobody back then had any idea that Westmoor would last so long as the continent was in a situation of extreme instability that saw the creation and destruction of a number of new realms. Corwin D'Saferate, Duke of Westmoor city, is one of the few people left alive who was at the very beginning of the realm, he had this to say:
Indeed I was here during the founding of Westmoor. The rose upon our crest is actually one that I gave to Queen Evangeline long ago when I was but a traveling author. I was a younger man then and my heart was filled with ambitions to do good and protect the people of this continent from war. I met with Evangeline first while researching Perdan for my book, she was Queen of Perdan at the time but was very helpful.
When I was visiting Perdan years later, she asked if I would accompany her in founding Westmoor based upon the ideals of Honour and Loyalty. I agreed and was given the Lordship of Poitiers and was our realm's Banker, though I made an oath never to lead troops into war (I broke that oath once when the Usurper and his rebels stole our capital, but that's another story). The early years were hard and with Perdan's support and a lot of luck we managed to secure our nation from Fontan, who rebuked our status as a sovereign nation. Eventually they surrendered and formally acknowledged Westmoor as a nation.

Perdan and Westmoor have always had a close relationship in the same way that Perdan used to have a good relationship with the long dead realm of Oligarch. The two nations stand back to back at the centre of the continent with an unspoken agreement to guarantee each other’s north and south borders.
However it’s not just our histories of war that are linked but also our history of faith in the church of humanity a religion born in Perdan City. The church of humanity has since become a very strong force in Westmoor enabling an easy and continual communication with Perdan in both the material and the spiritual. Jor Tanos former ruler of Westmoor and head of the church wrote this:
I am blessed to be able to write as not only a Prince of Westmoor, but also as the mortal head of Holy Church, the Church of Humanity. Westmoor is and always will be my home, albeit a kingdom that has seen much turmoil in its seemingly brief existence in this ancient land. We fought Fontan for survival even on the day of our birth, as we do now.
Yet Westmoor has always been closely tied to the Church. My friend and mentor, Evangeline Uceek, was a past Queen of Mother Perdan in addition to our own first Queen. She was long an elder of the Church, as well as our fiercest defender. King Nightmare of Perdan, whose first idea was the very spark of Westmoor's birth, has long been a senior follower of Holy Church. As have been many Kings and Queens of Westmoor.
Through Westmoor, the Church of Humanity has gained new life. Four of the five members of the current Ecclesiarchy are Westmoorian. The majority of our senior priesthood, our Clerics, are Westmoorian. As the Church has weakened, so too has Westmoor. As the Church in Westmoor has grown stronger, so too has our Kingdom.
Westmoorians are a proud, devout, and chivalrous people. May the Holy Light guide our path towards those ideals and towards prosperity, towards victory over our enemies.

Indeed over the course of a few months the situation in Westmoor has changed rather rapidly, from the prospect of certain destruction (when the armies of Caligus, Sirion and Fontan were all in our lands) to peace with Caligus and Sirion. We’ve gained two new regions Oberndorf and Commonyr a new king, a new newspaper and a better diplomatic situation throughout the continent. Our king addressed and congratulated the realm to this affect of which a copy is printed below.
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Today marks the third anniversary of Westmoor's independence! On this day, Duchess Evangeline Uceek seceded from the Kingdom of Perdan and was crowned Queen of Westmoor. The formation of our Kingdom was the climax of a long campaign by Perdan, under the leadership of King Nightmare and King Sangue. Of the founding nobles of Westmoor though, only Duke Corwin remains with us today. Sadly our founding Queen and long serving Duchess of Westmoor, Evangeline, died little more than a month ago.
But while our genesis is in Perdan, nobles from numerous other realms answered the call in those first days and made their home here; including Lady Merewyn, who would become our third monarch and of course Duke Gregor. Westmoor found itself immediately at war, aptly enough against Fontan.
Since those days our fortunes have risen and fallen. I recall ocassions when we were the weakest military power on the continent; at the beginning of last month our strength was second only to Ibladesh (although its since fallen due to the lowered risk of war with Sirion). A mere three months ago, Westmoor was still reeling from our defeat in Evora, facing an unwinnable two front war. Today we find our Kingdom larger than ever and our most stubborn enemy, Basilius Decimus, has disappeared.
The reasons for our present good fortune are not mere chance. General Arica, Lord Chancellor Antonious and Lord Treasurer Maliki have all done their part to ensured that the administration of the Kingdom runs smoothly. Ambassador Jor's triumph in securing peace with Caligus needs no introduction. Marshal Thomas' achievements are all the more impressive when you consider he is not yet even in his twenty-second year. But this could not be achieved without the exertions of the ordinary knights, be they the warriors of the Westmoor Column or courtiers ensuring the maintainence of good governance in our home territories. For Westmoor to succeed, every noble must be zealous in completing their duties.
I do not wish to encourage complacency, because we still have a long, long way to go. Although our efforts to achieve a ceasefire with the Kingdom of Caligus have been successful, other issues have proven more difficult to resolve. Under Chancellor Basilius, Fontan refused to make peace, believing they could persaude Sirion to fight their battles for them. Thankfully Prime Ministers Meristenzio and Ilias have refused to be used in such a manner. But to ensure the security of Westmoor, a permenant solution will need to be found by us and our neighbouring realms.
Today though, we shall celebrate three years of the Kingdom of Westmoor and remember those who cannot be with us today. For the cause of memories and friendship!

Lastly, you may wonder what happened to Queen Evangeline of Westmoor our first and most historically revered queen. Sadly she was assassinated by the infiltrator Guy Revan on 21st of Sept 1010 who received the largest bounty ever issued in east continent (and probably the world) 7000 gold coins. Guy Revan was a noble of Sirion at the time and Sirion wanted a large portion of that money for various reasons. To avoid paying this money Guy changed allegiance to Ibladesh. Now you expect me to say that “and now he lives there still in the luxury of wealth”. Well in truth he forgot to cash his bonds from the bank so he left all the money behind, a final revenge from the mischievous queen?
